Who out there has a the PS3 and Sony's top of the line XBR2 TV to go with it.  I got my PS3 a week after launch (pre-order list) and was not happy with the quality of graphics on my SD 27in CRT TV.  So I plunged into the world of HD and picked up the 40XBR2 about a month later.  I have to say this is just the dream setup.  Any one else have setup like this?

If it wasn't for the PS3, I would never have jumped into the HD world.  Now I see what I've been mising all along.

Only thing I need now is a quality Surround Sound system.

I've considered that TV but after further research on it and the discovery of that major clouding issue I've decided to spend my money elsewhere.  It's down to a Samsun LN-S4695D or the LN-S4696D (there is almost no difference) and the only thing I'm missing from the XBR is that 3rd HDMI port.  However, for a price almost a thousand lower than the XBR 46" I can't complain...the pictures are nigh indecipherable between each other.  Maybe a slight nod going to the Bravia here and there, and a slight nod going to the Samsung here and there.

No, I'm not nearly that lucky, or weathly :(

But congrats man, that's a pretty sweet set up. You should post a pic or two with some games running on it. If you haven't gotten in to Blu-Ray movies yet, you're in for a treat.

I suggest you get a hold of

  • Crank
  • The Departed
  • Monster House
  • The Prestige (2/20/2007)

Oh and for the sound system, I've always be partial to Harmon Kardon's. Besides no need to skimp on the sound system when your display is on the high end.
