sony hasnt put any new avatars on the network since the ps3 came out, not to mention most of them are lame anyway, anyone hear anything about them updating it anytime soon or know how to download your own onto your ps3 yourself?
They should make it so that you can display trophies as avatars. That way there are thousands, instead of people having 1 of the 10 decent ones from the current sleection
I don't know about when they'll add more, but i'm going with a reply P:TOM gave a reader's letter, games should include some new ones, and think of what problems uploading your own would cause (boobies etc.)
I want new avatars to, but I don't think costom avatars is a good idea because there would be porn everywhere........... On second thought........ Nevermind.

Yeah i also figured this was sony's reason for not allowing custom avatars. Sad but it wouldnt be so bad if the ones we had to choose from werent so lame.
Or it would also be cool if your playstation just simply started up as "Home" so you can go and play from there... but even the avatars from home only have like 4-5 different outfits right now...
I've been wondering this myself. They should at least add some new ones as new games come out. I'd like a Sev or a Sackboy or a Cole McGrath myself. The ones they have suck. Or why can't we use our HOME characters? I wouldn't use it, but that's be a good option to have. I understand why you can't upload your own, though. They'd have to put a huge and strict screening service in place to stop all the pornographic and drug-related avatars from getting through. That'd be too much of a pain for us and them. The best bet is definitely the simplest thing they could do: ADD SOME MORE!!!

This is bugging me too. They have such a slim selection and they are missing so many games. There's no LBP, no new Ratchet, terrible Uncharted ones, no MGS4, no Heavy Rain, no good God Of War, no Resistance 2, 1 Killzone 2... I'm not gonna go on but they REALLY need to add more.

There are 2 GoW ones. There's Kratos' head and a cyclops

YES ! That would be freakin' sweet, since is an exclusive they should add either Cole or Sackboys. If that ever happens I'm going to finally get rid of my Helghast.
yessss we need new ones or the option to upload our own. I have a bunch of friends with the same avatar and sometimes i send them the wrong messages. It would give more personalization.
Sony just needs to do what MS does and let you use a custom pic of your Home avatar or let you use the camera to take a pic and put it up, have itso only people on your friendlist can see the pic that you took with your camera.
My personal pic that I took with my camera only my friends can see is a naked pic of one of my old jumpoffs.

yea . . . and they've been there every since the ps3 first came out pretty much . . . old! and boring
