I'm sure you will be fine and learn as you go, but I'm sure you will plenty of info in this forum. Here are some points from myself.

1) If you are wireless internet, then the system will connect itself. However I have mine wired just so I get a little better connection.

2) If you have an HD tv make sure you get a HDMI cable if you do not have one.

3) Make sure you sign into the Playstation Network and set up your account for online. Pick an onlinename that you like and want. You cannot change it once you make one. You would have to make a new account.

4) Buy games that you will enjoy, no matter what other people or reviews tell you. Make your own decisions. Try starting with some of the PS3 exclusives. Uncharted, Killzone, God Of War, etc.

5) Have fun! :)

Going from PC to PS3 is a traumatic challenge, the controllers are horrible if you look at it the ergonomic way, also if you look at it control-wise luckly, consol gamers has auto aim in alot of games.

Btw, my PS3 is untouched for 3 months. Maybe selling it. And I am no PC-fanboy. I just think PC is a better, but more expensive platform.

He should be aware old models are more prone to breaking down then. @TC- 60GBs play all PS2 games, 80GBs play most.

What type of PS3 do you have that you might be selling?

Yeah I know. I had my first 20 GB ps3 until late 09 and loved it. It ended up burning itself out. I bought a thin 120GB PS3 not knowing it couldn't play PS2 games. I was pissed when I figured that out.

Tis quite the pickle. They have started re-releasing PS2 games in HD though- God of War Collection, Sly Cooper trilogy, Prince of Persia trilogy and soon the Team ICO Collection.

I've had 2 broken 60 gigs, then I got a slim. I almost never used it for PS2 BC so no biggie for me.
