Well today when i got home from school, i booted up my PS3 and tried to run CoD4. It froze at the Infinity Ward screen and from there on, apparently my PS3 doesnt play discs anymore. So i called Sony and got everything sorted out, they are sending the 'special box' and then ill be sending my beloved PS3 in. (Im NOT 'trolling' or whatever some of you guys say when someone says there PS3 broke) I am just curious for other people who have had to send the PS3 into Sony or any other products, how long do you think it will take for me to get my new PS3. Im just looking for an exact amount of days from people who have actually gone through the process, not the "5-10 business days and another 7-14".. Any help would be appreciated =]
Hey. I've actually gone through the exchange process and it basically depends on where you live. It actually doesn't get sent back to Sony. It gets sent to some repair headquarters in either Canada or America. I lived in Toronto, Ontario (Canada) and the whole process took about...11 business days? I got the box in 2 days, sent it the 4th day and waited for a week to get it sent back to me. The headquarters in my area was in Whitby, Ontario...not too far away at all. tell me about it. Get home after a half day and have the rest of the week off, it killed me. Hurt my heart. Oh well im not like all "AHH PS3 SUCKS ANIT PS3!!!!"..trust me, im just wondering when ill get my baby back =]
(I also think my friends PS3 will be getting some use by me this long weekend)
I am willing to bet that the software patch I downloaded from Sony to my PS3 sometime after New Year's caused our problem, and the only way to fix it was to send in our PS3 !
How many of you recall downloading a software update from Sony , and then experiencing this problem?
If Sony's update caused our PS3's to malfunction, Sony is open to a class action lawsuit.
I had this happen after last Christmas. It took about 2 1/2 wks for the whole process to wrap up. They shipped me the postage paid box, I shipped in and they shipped another system back....pretty seamless process.
it took my box about 5 days to come in and right now its getting service...it depends how far you live from texas cause the packaging sticker that comes with the box says something, texas
