I have searched this on goole and all and I have read a lot of opinions but I wanted to see whwat the gamers thought about this. Haven't you noticed that most of the time when you watch vids of devs explaining gamesthat they run their games on LCD monitors. Now I know that it could be because they are already working on the game through computers, but there are also just random demonstrations of them showing games but using an lcd monitor instead of a lcd tv. So do you guys think that these next gen consoles look better on lcd computer monitors or lcd tvs? Are we able to select higher resolutions past 1920X1080 on computer monitors? I'm no tech geek but just want you guys opinions....

It should make no difference. A monitor is a tv without a tuner. And you cannot go past 1080p (1920x1080) for resolution

only reasons why the tv would be better than the monitor is because you can get larger sizes(way larger) and the tv will do sound as where the monitor will require more equipment

it is the same.. as long as it is LCD.

the highest resolution is 1080p and many games are 720p... no difference unless you want to invent one.

Thats good to hear that most games are 720p since my monitor cant output 1080i or 1080p (max rez. is 1680x1050)

I think they should have made it so the ps3 support resolutions instead of just HD 720p, 1080i, 1080p. I know my 360 can do different resolutions but doesn't support 1680x1050... weird

I would go with a TV becuase not only are you getting the same res (1080p) but you are also playing a console. I mean isn't that half the reason you bought a console, to play on your sofa with a big screen and sourround? At least it is for me, well and MGS, DMC and FF.

A TV is easier to set up, but I still like to use my monitor when I take my PS3 on the road, just load up some small speakers or use headphones (with some adapters) and you're good to go. Other than that, like everyone else is saying there is really no difference.

Ps3 support 480p and 480i (standart format), there's only 480, 720 and 1080.... It was intented first for tvs and not monitors, that why the choice of resolution is limited.
