PS3 also supports Full HD. It obviously has an HDMI output and yes....also the slim. Plus, if the BluRay player needs an update, you can do it through internet rather than go buy a new one ;)

The PS3 is also one of the best Blu-Ray players on the market and with firmware updates it can just improve when the other players come out with newer software. I think that the PS3 firmware get's the updates before any of the other players are released with the latest firmware.

Pretty much this, the PS3 Blu-Ray player is considered one of the best, it also has one of the lowest startup times for loading blu-rays aswell.

Actually it's Blu-ray. If you're going to tell others they're wrong, you ought to to be fully right yourself.

On topic, the PS3 is a phenomenal Blu-ray player. It's still recognized as one of, if not the best Blu-ray player on the market. No worries, there, TC.

Well the current PS3 Blu Ray is top notch but didn't the person who tipped everybody a few months agoabout the PS3's specs mention that they would be putting in a cheaper Blu-ray in the Slim model and that it might have some issues?

lol listen to what NYC05 just said...I'd like to add that the heavier the player the less vibration you'll get through your player. with that said the PS3 (current model) weighs in around 12 lbs while most blu-ray players only weigh 4 - 6 lbs. the heavier the player usually the more expensive it is. do some research tc on the different blu-ray models to compare price and weight and you'll be very surprised. about a year or so ago i did a search for blu-ray players and found that most that weigh over 10 lbs could run you over $1,000. now i'm not sure if those prices are still in that ball park, but it makes my point valid that weight helps. my PS3 is currently runnig at 1080P/24P with 120hz. so you should feel confident that a PS3 will perform as well if not better than most blu-ray players on the market

It does everything a regular blu ray play does. The only acceptionis that, obviously, it can only hold one disc at a time. But otherwise, PS3 can easily serve as an entry-class blu ray player.

The PS3 is far from an "entry-class" blu-ray player, it can hold it's own against the highest priced standalones. Also you say the only acception is it can only hold 1 disk at a time, how many players out there hold more than 1? and more to the point why would you need it to hold more than 1?.
