http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=75002

"Our data revealed that in a matter of just ten days the PlayStation 3 created a spike in retail spending not previously witnessed at the launch of any other console in Australia," said Gfk's Daniel Morse.

"This spending continued into the second week of trading, resulting in sales of 27,083 PlayStation 3 consoles in just ten days."

The all-formats game chart was also dominated by the launch of the new console, with an incredible nine out of ten spots taken up by PS3 titles - Final Fantasy XII for PS2 being the only party pooper."

Don't know if these are old news, but the article is new :P

well guess they reported wrong (your link)? Probably where just estimations. I don't make the news, i just link them.

according to eurogamers source: "According to data trackers Gfk, this record boost was unseen at either Xbox 360 or Wii launches."

edit: strange that both news are from the same site :P

the first link seemed like they took the news from gamesindustry, because it was all written the same (just a few minor changes). The second link is from the first site you linked in your previous post, which is the same site eurogamer linked their news from. So in conclusion all these news come from Gameindustry.biz, so by their current news it should mean ps3 broke 360 records?

No, no, no, no, no.

The PS3 didn't break sales records in Australia. It broke retail spending records.

The 360 did break sales records (approximately thirty thousand sold), but the Wii just managed to beat that by two thousand consoles sold (in the first four days). The PS3 sold twenty seven thousand in ten days.

ahh... I'm so confused.  How about we just agree that both console (360 and PS3) kicked a** in Australia.  It's nice to see that the PS3 sold like hotcakes somewhere...

Who was in denial, i didn't state anything about sell records. I just reported the link, and you reported something else. Look at the Topic "PS3 breaks records in australia". It didn't say Sales. sigh

The bottom line is that Australians have deep pockets full of cash, or high outstanding debt levels. :P
