I put an led mod on my dualshock 3 controller and went to pair it with my ps3 and on the xmb it was rolling to the left and staying, I would move it to the right but it goes and stays to the left, I was wondering has this happened to anyone else, and did I ruin my controller. Could use your advise.

It could be that the controller was face down and calibrated incorrectly because the analog stick was being held down when the controller was turned on, but most likely, your mod screwed up something.

Maybe if your mod involved drilling holes then you maybe made a contact between the 2 plates which judge how the analogue moves... Or maybe a stray piece of "mod" has connected those contact plates...

All I did was solder negative and positive wires to the controller no drilling of any kind.

It feels like it's the d-pad that's making it go to the left.

Your best to retrack everything you did and find the source of the problem.

One of my old controllers drifted, but it was because I think I dropped it.

I don't know, you tell us. Can you take it apart again and fix it? If not you know what you've done.

I've taken it apart countless time and one of the times everything was working except the the left analog stick was inactive, so I took it apart again and It was doing the same thing and going to the left, I don't know what's going on, could the solder have done something? Again I only soldered the positive and negative points on the dualshock.

This happened to me once but I didn't mod my controller. I just plugged it into my computer and let it be. Worked fine the next day

My guess would be that you've added a power drain to a circuit that depends on a precise amount of power to control things properly.

i figured it out when i was soldering the negative and positive wires there was solder some left over which was making the two points touch which was making my controllers act up and move to the left on the xmb. now me controllers are looking awesome with the leds shinning.
