its normal. 2 of my DS3 controllers squeak either on my L2 or R2...my left analog stick on one of them is a bit squeaky as well.

OH and since where talking about ps3 controllers. When you press either the R1 or L1 button hard do you feel the plastic around the R1 and L1 button against your finger tips? like does it bother you at all? cause like im building up a phobia lol....i hate it when i press the r1 and l1 buttons firmly ....especially while playing mgs4

I've had to take 2 DS3's apart due to broken springs in the L2 and R2 (1 each.) Lucky I have a couple spare sixaxis's sitting around for parts. Just stole the springs from them. The only part in there that could really squeak is the hinge pin that holds the trigger on. I guess you could open it up and put a touch of graphite in there, but seems like a lot of trouble just for squeaks. :P

Well, if it's broken then take it back to the store and they'll give you a new one.

well at least you dont have 2 shoulder buttons missing. Should be getting DS3 very very soon but for now playing TF2 as it doesn't require all the buttons :D

Its like 5 screws and it snaps apart at the bottom. Easy stuff. Nothing's gonna fall out except for the battery. Well, and the L1 R1 covers maybe. Just make sure you tighten all the screws back down completely or the whole CONTROLLER will squeak :P
