I think the controller is in bad need of a redesign. I hate to say it But I prefer the 360 controller to the ps3's . I was just playing resident evil 4 on my gamecube and I never realized how comfortable the controller was. Especially compared to all three newer consoles controllers. I think the gamecubes rumble is by far the best of all consoles and 360's is the worst. I really wish they would release a controller similar to the gamecube's and 360's. Something inbetween. What really bugs me about the ps3 controller is the bulging(sp?) sides.

Talk to everyone that hated on the PS3 boomerang! That controller may have looked a bit stupid, but I'm convinced that it was one of the most comfortable controllers around, and I hope they might bring it back in a year or two.

I wouldn't mind having the boomerang controller as a special edition in a few years.

Looks good for a steering wheel, but what would you normally play with?

I have no problems with the ps3 controllers at the moment, and I don't think Sony can afford to make so many different controller options at the moment. Maybe check in with da 3rd parties.

the boomerang looks comfortable, i think tehy should just move the left stick up half an inch, not switch the dirrectional buttons and stick like 360, i think that subtle diff would make a huge dif. also if it were more round

What I like about this controller is that it looks professional like the Ps3. It matched the console. The one right now looks like it matches the Ps2 perfectly.

To each his own. I love the DualShock/SixAxis controller. its been around for years and still going strong. It fits in my hands nicely and I rest my index fingers in between R1/R2 and L1/L2 buttons. The 360 controller on the other hand makes my wrists hurt after only a couple of hours playing. And its a pain to go from the triggers to the bumpers. Not to mention the terrible d-pad that is no where near as refined as Sony's controller. I also prefer the rubber convex sticks versus the concave plastic 360's.

Its all personal preference. Most old school gamers that have had the original PlayStation back in mid 90's love it to this day. Its the new gamers that tend to have issues. I guess I'm just old. :)

I agree with you 100% man. 360's controller is much better than PS3's. PS3's is too small, and my fingers slip off the L2/R2 triggers too easily. I have to continously reposition my fingers, because the triggers slant downward, whereas the 360's slant upward, so you never have your fingers slipping. I say bring back the Boomerang controller.

Thats one thing I liked about the 360, the controller was bloody comfortable! The PS3's is ok, but my hands get alittle cramped after playing for a while...

I'm the same as you (and the opposite of the TC). I love the PS controllers and probably always will. I've never had any discomfort or problems whatsoever with it. I like the shorter rounded handles cuz it lets my palms cup around them, which fits my hands well, and all of the buttons feel just right for me.

I remember when I got the original xbox (with the smaller controller) and I honestly have to say I really hated that controller from day one (and I got the xbox shortly after my PS2 and I never owned a PS1 so its not like I got used to the PS controller). I'm not sure specifically what I didn't like about it, just that it was uncomfortable and it made my hands/wrists hurt after awhile. My remedy for the original Xbox controller was to buy a Madcatz Microcon Xbox controller... man that thing made playing my xbox soooo much better. When ever I played with my friends I refused to play unless I could use my microcon one lol.

I don't have a 360 A.T.M., but I have tried a friends. I think the slight redesign if MUCH more comfortable than the original xbox, but there something still not quite right about it... just not as comfortable as the PS controller for me.

I'm not saying that any of the controllers are bad, just that everyone's hands are different and different shapes, sizes, layouts are going feel different to different people and this was just my take on it. :)

I love the playstation controller, good they didn't change it. It feels good and is compact and all the buttons are right there. The xbox controller is clunky in my opinion The n64 is still the best fitting one ever in my opinion. It just felt right

Anyone notice when playing on a 360 the controller makes your hands sweaty?

I think they should mix the controllers, there are good parts about both.

I kinda agree. I liked the shape but the button arrangement was a bit awkward. Also I didnt like the feeling of the 'R' trigger(I think) it felt like it was just a cheap spring inside it. I like the ps2 controllers most i think. Xbox was really good for fps but kinda uncomfortable if you played too long. The 360 controllers are nice but still feel a bit weird to me. I guess like a few other said: to each his/her own.

yeah that was the first thing i notice when i first got my ps3, i think its because the rumble was taken out so they made the handle smaller and when u have huge hands like me its a real pain in the back side.

but hopefuly when the rumble controllers are released they will fix the problem

When I have to hold the R2 and L2 buttons for along period of time, then it starts to feel uncomfortable. For example, in Resistance I crouch a lot while using the zoom on mysniper rifle. Doing those at the same time starts tofeel uncomfortable. I just wish the R2 and L2 buttons were recessed into the controller in a more ergonomic way.

And see, the 360 controller makes my hands cramp. Can't stand the crooked analog sticks. I've always thought the Playstation design was the most comfortable.

YES! Definetly. I was playing my friends 360, Gears of War, and I just kept realising my hands were sweaty. Too chunky IMO, PS3 controller have stuck with the design for years, and should continue to do so.
