Yes you can...I have actually used it for games like Half-Life 2, FEAR, and others....there is a forum post that details how to do it...thanks alot! One more thing tho. Are there problems with the analog sticks and r1/l1 when trying to play a game like unreal 2004 (i want to test the controller playing unreal 2004 so that i can decided if i have to buy a m/kb when unreal tournament 3 comes out) Since the xbox 360 controllers had problems

if there are problems, try out "pinnacle game profiler" it pretty much allows your controller to emulate the KB+M, you can set buttons to emulate certain things, have the analog sticks emulate WASD and such, its a really great program, theres a free trial on their website
As much as I support the PS3, I have to say the xbox360 controllers are probably the best as far as PC controllers are concerned with. Once you know how to use the dongle, they are easy to manipulate. PS3 controllers weren't designed for PC use, whereas microsofts were. And no, I do not own a 360.
I have a dell xps m1330, with two xbox wireless controllers. They arepretty pimp for gaming, ESPECIALLY classic gaming (hint hint, something I'm not aloud to talk about on gamespot).

But you have to pay for the wireless dongle in order to get the 360 controller to connect to the PC. I can use the SIXAXIS and the usb cable it came with as a PC controller, no extra purchases necessary. Now if I want to use one of my 360 controllers as a PC controller I have to purchase a extra $20 PC adapter :( I do agree that the 360 controller is the better one for PC gaming, but I just do not want to spend money when I don't have to.
I have a PS3, 360 Elite (with an extra controller), and a good gaming PC (also a Wii, PSP, and DS :P)
Another thing I forgot to mention was that I actually had to install the xbox 360 drivers to get the analog sticks to function......hopefully that helps. Just toy around with it because sometimes it doesnt work as planned for me either.dooguesgoober4
So far the only game this works on for me is Geometry Wars. It works great for that but RE4, and GeoW just don't work with it... I'm going to try the 360 drivers because it seems the only controller Gears will recognise is the xbox one. So maybe I can fool my PC into thinking the SIXAXIS is the xbox controller...

Actually, the dongle comes with the controller if you buy it in the PC Aisle. And not everyone has bluetooth on their computer, which would require you to buy a dongle if you did choose to use the PS3 controller. As much as I would like to use a wireless PS3 controller, it's just a little more convienient to use the 360 one. They both handle the same task very well.

I know it come with the dongle if you buy the more expensive PC version. I don't have bluetooth on my computer :| The controller comes with a usb cable that is used to charge it. You use the same cable to connect the controller to your PC.
