PS3 - Crytek Project

A next-gen project by the creators of Far Cry. Rumors quickly spun up after Crytek posted a jobs ad for a PS3 Programmer and Console Senior Tools Programmer as to what this project might be (the hottest guess was of course that the studio's amazing Crysis would be brought to consoles), but nothing official has been announced as far as what the studio is planning.

Yes, it does show crytek engine 2 but guess what. That game that it show's it with is CRYSYS!!! If it's truly was run on a PS3 (wich in my opinion is possible) than there is a good chance that PS3 will be getting Crysis after it's release on the PC.

Can't wait to see what they can come up with.

its a month old.. thats not old.. and they are hiring for ps3 programers so you never know. that could be running on a ps3.

honestly man im just trying to tell them the truth but they obviously dont wanna hear it. This footage is old and its from the pc, but whatever, are there any sane people in this thread?

that vid is from crysis, and no crysis is not comming to any console platform. The job posted was for porting the engine over to the ps3 so it will work properly and not have crappy games made from it.Sully28

Thanks man, I guess when people wanna believe something, they close their ears to all else. The engine is definately being ported, even an EA rep said that, but the fact still remains that that footage was pc footage

It's PC footage. I remember a while back some Crytek bigwig or someone had to come out and quell the public rumors of Crysis going to consoles.

Im not making anything up, im a huge crysis fan and have followed it in depth since i heard about it. They said over 30 times in interviews its not comming to consoles, even cervat yerli (head honcho on crytek) said its not going to consoles, the only thing going to consoles is the engine so devs can use it (like Unreal Engine 3) to create games.

I go to n4g.com a lot, and I'm pretty positive there was a news article that said it was confirmed Crysis was going to the PS3, but I could be full of **it.  Plus, like Gizmo found, it says they need people to port games over and they're working on cross-platform code.

I think we'll all have to wait and see. I remember the beginning of that trailer from the PC demo we saw when the vids of Crysis first started surfacing... but the rest of it was new footage. Either that or I'd just missed it. IF that is running on PS3 hardware, then it's truly amazing & this gen is officially owned.

oh and how bout i throw a wrench into this debate. The end of the video says the engine is now available for licensing.

If this actually was ps3 footage then DAMN them boys at crytek are pretty fast at their job. Well either that or their licensing unfinished products. But i mean what kind of dumb company would do that....right?
