So update 3.15 allows you to transfer data between 2 PS3s. I have a few questions but have found different answers all over the internet so I thought I'll ask them here. 1. First of all can you move copy-protected save data from one PS3 to the other? 2. If you can move the save data can you still earn trophies using the same save file. Ex. If I am able to move my Assassin's Creed save data (which is copy protected) will I still be able to earn trophies while using that same save file that was moved? 3. Will I be able to transfer all my save data, game data, and downloadable content from my old PS3 to my new PS3. I need these answers quick because I am hoping to buy a PS3 slim tommorrow morning.

Yes it does copy copy protected (at least that is what is says in blog.eu.playstation.com) it removes the copy protected from source PS3 and moves it to new ps3 Yes you can as long as it is still the same profile user and PSN Yes that is the reason for the tool

Sorry to intrude but I also have a question about data transfering. I have a 320 GB HDD in a 20GB PS3. I'm planning on upgrading to a 120GB PS3 in a couple of days but I want to stick my 320 GB into it. Is there any hope for me to keep my saves and data and stick the 320GB into a new PS3 because correct me if I'm wrong but I can't just stick the 320GB into the 120GB and just start playing right. Won't it force me to format the HDD no matter what.

So if I move a copy-protected save file I can only earn trophies on it if I am online or can I earn trophies on it still when I am offline? Also when you are transferring data should I deactivate my old PS3 before or after the transfer. And should I activate my new PS3 before or after the transfer? Thanks in advance for the help.

The data transfer utility moves all copy protected files (therefore deleting it off the old PS3) and copies all other files, including game data, save data, DLC, profiles, music, everything. By moving the copy protected files it basically registers them with the new PS3 so yes you can still get trophies on that file. Deactivate the old PS3 before transfering and activate the new PS3 after transfering. @Josh, I already answered your question in the thread you made.
