PS3, Did i waste my money?

there are loads of exclusive and non exclusive games coming out for the ps3 in 2008, tekken 6, mgs4 gt4 to name a few the quality is much greater then x box 360. any game devolopers can finnaly use the ps3 propely cus they have got used to it to make top notch games with awsome graphics.bleed_stab

Anyhow I do think it was a waste of money for me to adopt the PS3 so early while it was still so expensive.
The one online game that I love to play, Motorstorm, won't update on my PS3 anymore, and I also wasted money buying the Weekend Pass which doesn't work...

I contact Sony Tech support, which ended up being the US tech support, and even though the simple solution of giving me a download link for the motorstorm update to manually install would be so simple, they just refuse to help me because Im not in the US.
Meanwhile posting on the official sony tech support forum brings 0 replies, and my country's tech support contact info is WRONG... Either entered incorrectly, or i dunno.

So now my game and add-on are completely useless, I wasted my money, and sony's tech support is total BS.

Does someone wanna trade an xbox360 for a PS3? Cause i'm seriously pissed off about this..

just buy R&C thats comeing out in the next 3-4 weeks and you'll startplaying your PS3 and even Uncharted what about Warhawk? Just try playing these games and you'll love the games trust me.jacky531

Yeah i agree, in my opinion i invested in this console a little early, however i dont mind that i have to wait, its just that the ps3 exclusives just arent that amazing. Yeah MGS4,GT4 etc, but it would of been better if GTA was PS3 only. I have both an xbox 360 AND PS3, i like both consoles, however i play the xbox more. This is beacuse of the range of games and the quality online service. My PS3 has not been played for quite a while. I was starting to think if i had wasted my money on the PS3 as there just isnt enough games and services out there to keep the ps3 alive and more popular. I would love to see the PS3 overtake the xbox 360, but when will this happen!!? Where are those highly anticipated games?, how long do we have to wait for PS Home. When are we going to see a game that can compete with halo etc. jjarvis321

its not a matter of just avoiding it, it's the matter of seeing it? These kind of posrts just dont belong in this forum. I along with many other people dont wanna hear it. Like Rick said it belongs in ur blog

this is all relative to the user.

the ps3 has much over looked games such as oblivion, rainbow 6, GRAW2, etc. simply because the 360 had them first. those games that 360 fans adored for ages didnt suddenly become crap. they are simply overlooked now.

in the next few months we have games such as

Folklore (its getting a wide range of reviews. either you hate it, love it, or just think its ok)

Ratchet and Clank (the demo was great!)

Haze (from what i have heard, its a halo (how it handles)like game for the ps3)

Uncharted (its like tomb raider and gears of war had a really awesome baby)

and the list goes on. thankfully we also have a great start into 2008 as well, where other consoles usually have their dry spell.

Its a waste of money now just like xbox 360. The majority ofPS3/360 games are based around PS2.

Nobody is wasting their money when they get a PS3. It's the developers/publishers that are milking your every worth with badly ported games or games that are too rushed because they would save costs by not fixing miniscule problems and slapping a $50+ price tag (HEY WHATS UP EA).

I mean warhawk was supposed to have a ton of ships on the screen at the same time, but they sold short and copied a Battlefield formula, and made you pay $42 canadian or whatever online with graphics that look horribly dated (the terrain ain't fooling me).

Oh and remember that 'supposed' real time rendering of Fight Night Round 3? Yeah right. You can't even browse sessions, you just have to either fight someone in the lobby or use play now. Not to mention no keyboard support.

Even EA's Skate is having issues uploading videos in Skate.Reel, XBOX360 works fine, but not the PS3's!

Oh and stupid micro transactions in the Playstation Store. They might as well make you pay $3 so you can add the 'pause' feature to a game, and nothing's stopping them from doing that.

A good tip is to rent the game. And if you are going to buy it, never buy it new, always buy it used. Craigslist is a great places to buy video games used.I mean you coooouuuld buy it new, but not even the horrible games are worth paying in new condition (WHATS UP SONIC)

Also three words that will forever make me lose faith in EA and this 'industry': Def Jam Icon.

These are subjective questions, really. For me, some of the games I really want are PS3 exclusives, so that was a no-brainer decision. I don't need a game of Halo 3 reputation in order to convince me to switch.. hell, to be precise, I don't even like FPS that much. Thus, it is entirely up to you to decide if the current crop of games has made your purchase of the PS3 worthwhile (for now).

The PS3 arrived a year later than the XBox 360, so a difference in range of titles, as opposed to the latter, is to be expected. Give it more time - 2008 promises to be a fantastic year for the PS3.

I really like my PS3 and I also have that other console I use just as much. Constant delays; can't argue with you their other than it should get better over time once developers get their hands wet with the ps3. Only thing online I care about are updates and trailers, and the ability for games to LAN. The whole smoother/look better is just a matter of perspective and what may look good to others may not be to another person.

My question to you is, why is it wrong for people to be early adopters? Yes there are changes thats the risk of buying early, and if it made you so happy to get rid of the PS3 then why come to these boards?

I have not even turned my ps3 on in a few weeks and ive only has it 2 months, not because i have nothing to play because ive had 360 games iwanted to play first now i have finished bioshock and nearly finished halo 3 i will go back to games i have bought but not finished or even started, RFOM/motorstorm.ninja gaiden/heavenly sword and warhawk.

If you own multiple console its up to you which you play more, theres plenty of decent ps3 games out now and coming soon to keep you busy.

I have 60+ 360 games(not including xbla games) and i only have5 ps3 games and 3 psn games, but thats just because ive had my 360 since dec 05 and ive only had my ps3 since aug 07.

I bought the ps3 for the games coming i just bought it early, but i still have 7 good/very good/great games to play on my ps3.

In two years time when ps3 has allot of amazing games im sure its not going to be a waste of money.

I look at it like its a smart investment for the future of gaming, and its still a good investment for gaming now, along with it being a blu-ray player, i'd say its a great investment.

Pateints, soon good games will come out. It just takes time.

Sure the games have been lacking, and really, xbox live is the bomb, but Sony has plenty of good things too. Just give it time...this time next year i dont think anyone will be making threads like this...at least i hope not.
