I am thinking of getting a ps3 in the near future, but before that a nice tv should come first. I was wondering what are the "actual" differences when you play games on a 720p as to a 1080i hd tv. I thought I would believe people with first hand experience than the salesman in electronic shops. Thanks in advance !:)

If your getting an HDtv, get 1080p with an HDMI port.  You'll regret it in the future if you dont.  And you might as well get the best picture.  They are more expensive, but if someone is spending 1000 bucks on a tv, might as well get a better one for 1500.

There is no worthwhile 1080p tv for 1500 dollars.

True, a higher end 720p/1080i TV is a lot better than a low end 1080p TV.

it depends on how big your tv is. If your getting above 42 or so inches, you would be much better off with a 1080p resolution. If your 40 and below, 720p/1080i is fine. I have a 37" LG LCD at 720p/1080i and it is amazing.

That is not true either.  At those prices it would be way under cost.  If you can not provide an image or anything there is no way you are credible.  From the people I talk to on a daily basis, a price like that would come up in casual conversation.  It is ok that you were way off, you just need to drop it.

thanks for the advice guys.:) The ideal screen size in my room is either 32inch or 37 inch. Since most 32/37inch tv's are at 1366x768 HD resolution. (except sharp that has released 1080p for 32 and 37). Seems like people who play their games on their 720p tv is happy with the way it is being displayed right?
