Hey all. I was hoping someone could help me with a wierd display problem on my ps3. Basically I have it hooked up to a 22 inch LG HDTV via component cables. It starts fine and plays games ok, but when I havt to quit to the dashboard thing it just comes up with an out of range message on my TV, but as soon as I load up again the TV starts to re display the picture! Any ideas as to what might be the problem? Thanks.

That is kinda strange. But here are a couple of possibilities for you to check.

First is the controller charged, it doesn't mean it has to be fully charged at that time but it should have some amount of charge in the battery.

Also if your using a wireless router this could be having some kind of issue. Especially if the information bar is running.

Yer the controller has plenty of charge in it, I have tried using the second one as well but the same thing happens. Also, its not connected to the internet at all, just to the tv. Its such a wierd problem which I cant get my head around al all! Thanks for the reply.

If you don't have a wireless network in your home but if a neighbor has a wireless network that is close enough the the PS3 may be trying to connect to this network. I am trying to come up with some things to check first when I can think of them, I need some more coffee to maybe get the noggin workin a little better though.

My LG 26 inches has quite similar problem - after long playing session my vision is starting to sway - quite as in old TV's when we were shaking the antenna.

Somebody know what's going on?

This could mean that the LG TV's have some kind of issues with the PS3. Maybe time to check there web site first to see if there is a firmware update for this or call there tech support and see if there is something that can be done about this problem. I wish you guys the best of luck on the problem.

Thanks a lot. I was phoning to the LG headquaters of my country (Poland) but they're still unprepared for 'next-gen' problems.

But maybe time will change these things :)

I truely hope they do get up-to-date with there hardware/software. This is a fairly young company that is still basicly in the learning stages. Personally I have had great luck with Sony products over the years.
