I have an HDTV (Samsung) and I had not been playing in True HD until about a week ago. I thought the PS3 would automatically change my resolution to 1080i, but in fact, it kept it on 480 and I had to go into settings and manually change it. It made a HUGE difference! All my games, displays, internet, everything! are now all in true HD. I can't believe how long I went without viewing my games and menu in true HD. Here's what I did:

Settings - Display Settings - HDMI - Automatic set up. (You can do manually, but automatic is a lot easier)

You may have to adjust your screen to fit the display better, but it makes a MAJOR difference. Now I won't complain as much to my friends about how PS3 graphics aren't what I wanted them to be for $500!

Many of us already knew this but for some this kind of info can be very helpful. I have found several tweeks that can be made to my TV and PS3 along with some extra tweeks that can be done in the game settings as well. With time you may find these little tricks.

Yeah I know tell me about it. But its kind of strange that I had to randomly find out about it. There should've been a footnote or something in the ps3 booklet. I think the PS3 should automatically recognize the highest resolution available and upconvert to that format. There was no way of knowing unless I read the entire booklet which was seemingly a waste of time. I guess not
