Well for me it takes about 1 hour, except the modnation beta, which took about 6 hrs, because servers were overloaded.

I just downloaded the Bad Company 2 demo. It was around 990-something MB and it took me about 1 hour. I have broadband.

An hour or two.

Takes forever if you put it in background while you play. If you do it with the screen up the whole time it should take about an hour or so.

I never understand why the PS3 demos take so long to download. Same size demos get done hella fast on LIVE so I think it's a server thing on Sony's side. You always hear the PS3 people ask about the time it takes to download demos and why does it take so long for demo's to download on PSN. It's on Sony's end, don't believe the people that try to cover for them and say it's your connection because 9/10 it's NOT!!

EDIT: For the record demos on LIVE get done in about less than an hour

About 30 min to an hour, still faster than live though.bigd575

It normally takes me about 40 min to download most demos, at least demos under 1.5gb.

It really depends on your internet download speed...

Some people have 1.5mbps, other have 25mbps. For me, my plan is 6.0mbps with AT&T, but you can always upgrade or downgrade it.

I downloaded the Heavy Rain demo in 25 minutes. It all depends on your connection speed and PSN traffic.

They take only 10 - 20 mins for mine. I've observed the speed to be on average about 2Mb/s, so that would be around 11 mins for an average 1.3Gb download. It seems from reading posts elsewhere that it depends on ISP, wired or wireless and perhaps where the server is that you get your download from. I have heard somewhere that Sony have various companies on contract to provide and run servers for them.

wow, where are you from? Is it usual to have such slow connection speed over there? Here in Switzerland most haveusually around 10 mbps up to 100 (proove) :S

Anyway, with my 10 mbps I have around 30min to download a demo for a retail game in average, faster if I do it over night. dling from the US Store usually takes about 45min, not sure if it's the distance or that the US Store is more used though :S Actually here in Switzerland (dunno how it's in the US since I do not have a US XBLA account) PSN is faster than XBL to dl things, but I have to add that Sonys services here in Switzerland are the strongest comprared to Microsoft/Nintendo ^^

1 gig on my connection takes about 10 minuteshiryu3

well this is really only true if the game you playing has some sort of online feature even just a leader board. if its not online then it will still DL.
