I have the Tritton AX Pro headset (via optical) and a stereo surround setup (via HDMI) with my normal speaker set. I would like the PS3 to output 5.1 Dolby Digital to the headset while pumping out the same settings minus the dolby digital to the stereo surround speakers. That way, if I want to use the headset, I just power it on, put it on my head, and then turn off the speakers, or vice versa. My question is, if I use the audio multi-output option does it make both settings the same and put a non 5.1 DD signal into my headset? I've just been changing the audio output settings whenever I wanted to switch between one or the other, but it's annoying to have to quit my game and screw around with settings each time I want to switch, even if it does only take a minute.
