Okay i don't really get this? where do I post on ps3 errors? I have one and I think the Gamespot community can help? Im not 'trolling'- whatever that means? or spamming? I just need help with a ps3 connectivity issue, and no where in the rules does it say I cant post that? so i will post my original post again: Hello everyone, i just joined the forum and was wondering if anyone can help me with a problem im having with my Japanese Ps3. When I 'test connection'- It says: 'An Ethernet cable in not connected' Also when I go through the internet connection settings manually, I press 'Test Connection', than under 'Obtain IP Address'-'Failed'. Also every now and then I get Error 80010201 on the top right corner of my screen. I have called sony and they say, because it is Japanese they cant help me, I know it should work because I have connected online at my friends house, we have the same ISP, this error just came out about a month ago. Personally I think that the Japanese model of my ps3 isnt detecting any kind of Ethernet cable for some reason, also when I try to connect wirelessly & press 'Scan' under the WLAN Settings I get the message 'A connection error has occurred. (80010201)' when I 'Enter Manually' and try linksys or linksys 2, under Obtain IP Address it says Failed again Also when I go through the internet connection setting and press 'easy'- It never does anything, I can wait for hours and I will never get a message, So please if anyone knows a way I can connect my Japanese Ps3 to the internet I will be forever great full! Thanks gamespot community! Also, when I plug in my Ethernet cable to my ps3, the light in the back doesn't go off?! And yes I already tried 'power cycling' unplugging everything for 2-10 min's

Had this issue with my previous PS3, and really didn't find a solution I just used wireless instead.

Same here I had it on my fat and now on my slim. So I think its the router. I switched to wireless too. Router works fine for 360 though.
