I have heard that 3.40 firmware update will be available tomorrow - 29 june. Are there any details about what is going to feature ? Is it going to be only a PSN plus update ?

At the moment all we know is that it's to implement the PS+ features, I'd keep my eyes open though because usually with any big update Sony will release a video walkthrough the day before.

I'm still hoping that they'll redesign the profile to make it better looking and to hold more information, kind of like the Singstar profiles;

Only instead of it being all music related it would be game/trophy related.

Like the others have stated, I'm pretty sure it's only getting the console prepared for PlayStation+. I'm going to keep an eye on the PSBlog in hopes that they announce something new though!

I really hope it's not minor updates or strictly PSN + updates. A cool redesigned XMB would be nice.

I'm glad they finally slowed down all their firmware updates. Remember when they dropped every 3 or 4 weeks? Yeesh.

There will be... I feel for the people who have had issues with Firmware updates but if asked, the majority of them will say that they tried to turn the system off because they thought it was frozen/taking too long/were impatient. Obviously, turning the system off when it's overwriting your system files is a horrible idea. It's like powering off while saving on a massive scale. So that's where the sympathy ends.
