I am looking for some good flight games to get (thinking of HAWX to start) for the ps3. I was wondering if you guys could suggest some good games for me but PLEASE NO PS2 GAMES because I have the new ps3 slim which doesn't play ps2 games.
IL-2 Sturmovik Birds of Prey is the most non-arcade flying game on the ps3. Especially if you play it on realistic or simulator.bussinrounds
This. I have "Sturmovik" and it's amazing. Lots of fun and it will challenge you like no other flight game on the system currently. There are expansion P-47 missions available as DLC... One of my favorite games for the console.
The "Hawx" series is pure rubbish. "Heroes Over Europe" is very arcade and a bit buggy but can be played. "Warhawk" can be fun but it's online PvP (no Campaign or Story mode) play only and not very realistic from any angle.
You can demo most of the games for yourself on PSN.
Try the demo of "Apache Assault"... It's pretty cool too, and presents a different flavor of flight (and can be set to "Realistic" physics and mechanics). While I am looking forward to "Ace Combat" later in the year, I wouldn't stop the presses and hold everything waiting. Buy "Sturmovik" in the meantime.
