ps3 freeze question

Personally I have a fat one from 2009 and its been solid. But my freind just bought one and it froze three times today (slim ps3). So he is bringing it back within the 30 days to get another. Is this cause its slim or just pure crap luck on his part?

Slim? As I said, mine has been solid for nearly a year now, but his is a brand new slim.

oh yea i have FAT one too, i have had it for more than 2 years now so just a few dayz a go it froze in the middle of a game and then i reset the console afterwards it cant read any bluraygame dvds cds,so i gotta go check it and see what happens,

but i dont think ps3slim has anyproblem,much much less than ps3FAT anyway,

I have had a slim for a few months now and it has never frozen before.

huh, well thanks guys. I am sure his next one will be better. I guess with hardware its just pure luck :P.

Question:

Is there a way to put your game saves and stuff onto your laptop? Or some way for him not to lose his progress when he returns the ps3?

When I originally bought my PSP Fat years ago, the first one I got froze multiple times. I exchanged it for the one I have now. The one I have now has always froze every now and then, though it is dependent on the game you are playing. For example, FFXIII has not frozen a single time, GOWIII froze once, Oblivion freezes about once every other day, and Assassin's Creed (the first one) freezes about once every two hours. (These freezing times are considering that you play the game for the ENTIRE day meaning about 8 hours of gameplay.)

I don't think that you should worry about the freezings. Mine does about two or three times a week and so do my friends' PS3s, so I think it is just a flaw in the system in general and not a specific problem with yours.
