Happened to me before but not recently. And I've been playing with my PS3 on average of 5-10 hours everytime I turn it on.

I'd say they are the most common with the 40gb, followed closely by the 80gb...the 60gb and 20gb are the reason people refuse to believe the PS3 has problems and system failures so if you can find one of those snag it quickly.

Well it's actually rare for a PS3 to break down.

Sadly, the people who're complaining about their PS3 freezing are the 1%.

You shouldn't be too concerned though.

THat report was done based off of the 20gb and 60gb. THe 40gb and 80gb have disc read errors, freezing problems, and occasional spontaneous death.

I have a 40gb. It froze while I was playing COD4 and it won't read games any more. Sometimes it works, but then it just freezes and stops reading games again... weird since everything else seems okay... I have to send it in for an exchange, but I haven't heard much about the older models (60gb) having problems, so it could just be the 40gb (Sucks to be me). I'd go for the other models if I was you, but if you do decide to buy the 40gb one, KEEP THE RECEIPT. And don't mess with it or else it will void the warranty and you will have to pay for an exchange if it gets messed up.
