PS3 Gamers being targeted by Gamespot

Ok, I bring this out here, because I don't even know why I was warned.

Moderators never leave an e-mail in case you contact them. 

First off why is this even a violation of Gamespot policy? And why did it take until yesterday to do it.

I do mind because even though this is a private organization, it's still going too far.

I don't even remember what petition its talking about?

Anyone being wrongly targeted?  

I dunno, I really don't know what's going on. I've been banned for the dumbest reasons.

i think i remember getting suspended from someone asking about playing ps3 in a SDTV in the PS3 forums section and then i said that if they played their ps3 in a SDTv it would look like 360 graphics but if they played in HDTv, it would look like ps3 graphics, and i got suspended. sucks bad, i think i got warned and suspended for the stupidest reasons alsoddldave

That is a pretty frivolous reason. It's too mild to count as trolling, and lies aren't against the ToS... maybe some moderator was having a bad day and wanted to take it out on the first mildly inappropriate post he saw.

They can be rather draconian at times... too draconian for my tastes.

For example, I posted a neat little topic on System Wars (stay far away if you know what's good for you) about how backgammon was the best game ever, and pretended that the year was something ~650 AD. I was bashing Chess as new and unproven, and I made beleive it was like REALLY old-school system wars. It was on-topic, even if its only value on said forum was humor, but two months later I get this message saying it got moderated for off-topic and I had lost points.

Do people go around old topics and report them? If they do, they're real *******s. 

yea whats with the mods beying so slow!? one time i made a topic dont know where and i dont remember when but it i got modded for it but it was like 4 or 5 weeks after i made the topic and it was buried under like 30 pages of other topics. i was like whats up with this!??hofuldig

yeah, most of the GS mods are really going too far. i once didnt know what i got suspended for, so i made a topic, asking why i got suspended, and i got suspended again. seriously, if i can walk down the street and call who ever a ******* retard i should be able to do the same in a frikkin internet forum.

edit: OH WAIT! i just remembered, i recently got suspended for posting, and i quote: :lol:

i know sometimes its pretty harsh,

i got suspended for telling a noob to go look for himself, i mean he was looking for an exclusive PS3 gamelist, and i could see 3 of them on the first page of the forum.

Gamespot has one thing going for it: the reviews. They never break any big game story first, the forums are largely populated by children off their meds who don't know the meaning of punctuation, and the Mods are slap-happy gestapos who will ban you for the slightest infractions while looking the other way while people they agree with do the same thing. It's nothing new. It's not like Mods are paid a lot of money, they have to have some fun, and it's fun being in control and abusing your power because frankly, what are you going to do? Report it to another mod? So they can both laugh at you? Gamespot forums have always been ridiculous like that. Go to the 360 forums and they will ban you on sight for bringing up the PS3 to troll. On the PS3 boards there is no such thing. People do it blatantly, or in what they think is a clever way: "So I was thinking about buying a PS3 because I love Sony and PS3 RULES! but I heard it's not as good as the 360 and the 360's graphics are better and XBL is better and I heard the graphics look like crap and it costs way too much and it breaks easily and the games are crap and Xbox is way better JUST WHAT I HEARD but I love PlayStation should I buy one even though it costs way too much and I heard it sucks and the media hates it and I buy all the propaganda Microsoft is throwing around? Should I?"

It's disgusting.
