I actually have not had any big problems with any of my PS3 games. Yet. So naturally i'm not feeling the same way.
But hey, i enjoy reading all these different (not that different topics really. ) about it. Even if it was kinda hard on the eyes :D zeforgotten
yeah sorry i kinda went on a rant.. i guess i have most of these problems because i try to pick up the games i want around launch.. and i've almost always had problems.. even if i preorder.. i happened to get lucky while picking up army of two though.. i actually went to best buy.. they DAY AFTER it was released.. and they still didnt have it.. so while i was in line they must have just gotten the shipment because i saw people getting in line with it.. i actually got out of line and got my hands on one of the last copies... but i had to wait in line again..
Not so much on the buying issue, though I haven't bought to much of late.
However, renting games has been a problem. One, they never have enough copies of games they have. Two, they never seem to get most games for the system in general. Now this isn't just one store ... but across the board. I live in a very populated area (to populated in fact {imo}) so it's not like some small town that is oblivious to consumerism.
When it comes to other systems it is a different story all together. I think the PS3 is in a "hate" wave. Hopefully the fad fades.
I couldn't get through all that. Can I get a summary from somebody? I've played COD 4, Burnout, Army of Two, Turok, The Club, Madden 08, Godfather, skate and a few others on both systems.
There isn't a difference when it comes to multi-platform games. People think there is because critics say so. Other than that, it just comes down to exclusives. Gears is a very, very good game. Far better than Halo or even COD. But PS3 has some great exclusives out now and on the way.
Now, I will say that stores, especially Gamestop, seem to hate the PS3. They rarely get as many PS3 games as they do XBOX. And they don't carry many copies of PS3 exclusives. The local Gamestop had two of MLB 08. Two. Not two left. Two total.
A guy at another Gamestop suggested I pre-order RSV2 because of the "ratio of PS3 games we get." I told told him to stick it and went to Best Buy.
Whatever. I just play the games and have fun.
I wouldnt know to be honest.
Multi-plat Multiplayer games go to my 360
Multi-plat single player games go to my PS3
Multi-plat Single + Multiplayer games go to my 360
Exclusives go to their respective system.
In other words, I only have 1 PS3 game that I really wanted, and that was exclusive, and I dont find any problems when I play.
But I do agree with you guys that the PS3 shouldnt have these problems with the late arrivals as youre insighting and the multiplayer problems of Vegas 2 and a few others. There's no excuse for it.

First off.. i'd just like to say that i love my ps3 and have loved playing the games on it.. my complaint is about the actuall shipment of games and developers giving us ps3 gamers the shaft.. by that i mean that the games aren't equal across both the 360 and the ps3..
dont get me wrong.. i dont want to hate on the 360.. a few of my friends have it and i've gotten some quality time with gears of war... but i just feel like developers dont care about the ps3 versions of games.. also with the shipments of the ps3 games.. for the sake of excuses.. look at games like COD4, Army of Two.. and Devil May Cry 4.. i own these games and they play great on the ps3.. some would say they play better on the ps3 than the 360.. but still why are there still complaints about gameplay across other games.. like the recent complaints about rainbow six vegas 2.. i picked the game up but i haven't tried it yet...
but thats not my only beef... my major problem is with the availability of games.. lucky me i was able to go to best buy and pick up vegas the day after its release.. but i always have a problem with picking up new releases.. there are always a day late at the best buys i go to.. and usually a day late at the gamestop.. but also there simply aren't enough copies out there.. like with Devil May Cry 4, and Call of Duty 4... when i went to pick up these games the day of there release there weren't any copies available but when i look at the 360 game section they seem to have plenty copies available. i actually had to take the Shelf case of Devil May Cry 4 because it was the only PS3 copy left... oh and not to mention the recent debacle with Condemned 2 Bloodshot.. which for some reason still isn't available at best buy or gamestop..
i dont mean to sit here and whine but i just feel like us PS3 gamers are getting the shaft.. these are just my opinions based on my experiences.. and i just thought i'd check if anyone else feel the same way...
so you can focus more on the topic at hand.. excuse me for not being in the appropriate mind to spell/grammar check...

Sorry everyone, I couldn't resist
I'll make up for it by contributing my opinion.
2007 was a year where developers didn't have full understanding of the PS3's hardware. Some developers were lazy and therefore, they created games for the 360 then ported them to the PS3, making the PS3's version look alot worse. Now that the developers are grasping the concept of designing with the PS3 (look at games such as Uncharted) they are now able to tap into the potential power.
As for the availability problem, think of it this way. The people running the strore know only one thing. "There are more people with 360s, so let's have more 360 games in stock." It's pretty ignorant, I know, but as the PS3's population and popularity grows with this to-be-amazing year, you'll be seeing the PS3 being treated just as equally.
In my experiences, the stores I go to have a great PS3 selection. There are a few stores however (which I won't mention) who don't balance their games amongst the platforms.
Developers are playing on 360's. If it makes you feel any better 360 gamers are getting shafted w/crap hardware.Deathtransit
well its not really about feeling better.. or the 360 getting shafted in other ways... i just wanted the gamer community in general to stop getting shafted and be treated with good service with the PS3 in particular.. i mean its because of us that they even have a job..

Sorry buddy, but that's a whopper if I've ever heard one. I own both systems, and sadly when it comes to multiplatforms the PS3 version usually doesn't hold a candle to the 360 version. I had to return the PS3 version of Rainbow Six Vegas after playing the 360 version.

I just dont see a difference. I played RSV in both. Once I set my PS3 to 720, the graphics were the same. I might be getting old, but they look and play the same to me.
The only thing that is irking me is that the OTHER system gets all the kudos and praise. I'm just tired of the PS3 getting dissed because the OTHER system came out first. So what?! oh well just wait until the MAJOR games come out and then we'll see who's REALLY on top. Just remember: Sony has been winning the war with every system they have come out with and this will be no different......

I feel the same way. It irritates the hell out of me. And what irritates me more is the fact that people brag just because they have two consoles. Good for them, but there's no reason to brag. I buy consoles based on what they can offer in terms of how long it lasts and what games are coming up that I'll be interested in. Sony has no failed with their consoles and they won't fail with the PS3's. Developers need to stop being lazy and start tapping into the power of the PS3.
