I actually have not had any big problems with any of my PS3 games. Yet. So naturally i'm not feeling the same way. (Edit: Buying them and playing them). They always seem to have a good amount of games around where i live. for either system

But hey, i enjoy reading all these different (not that different topics really. ) about it. Even if it was kinda hard on the eyes :D

yeah sorry i kinda went on a rant.. i guess i have most of these problems because i try to pick up the games i want around launch.. and i've almost always had problems.. even if i preorder.. i happened to get lucky while picking up army of two though.. i actually went to best buy.. they DAY AFTER it was released.. and they still didnt have it.. so while i was in line they must have just gotten the shipment because i saw people getting in line with it.. i actually got out of line and got my hands on one of the last copies... but i had to wait in line again..

Well hopefully we won't have to deal with crappy ports and low inventory anymore. With EA and others saying the PS3 is the main developing console then port to others then that should eliminate crappy ports. And with MGS4 around the corner that would force stores to get more inventory on other games since that game alone will increase the user base about 2X.

Not so much on the buying issue, though I haven't bought to much of late.

However, renting games has been a problem. One, they never have enough copies of games they have. Two, they never seem to get most games for the system in general. Now this isn't just one store ... but across the board. I live in a very populated area (to populated in fact {imo}) so it's not like some small town that is oblivious to consumerism.

When it comes to other systems it is a different story all together. I think the PS3 is in a "hate" wave. Hopefully the fad fades.

I couldn't get through all that. Can I get a summary from somebody? I've played COD 4, Burnout, Army of Two, Turok, The Club, Madden 08, Godfather, skate and a few others on both systems.

There isn't a difference when it comes to multi-platform games. People think there is because critics say so. Other than that, it just comes down to exclusives. Gears is a very, very good game. Far better than Halo or even COD. But PS3 has some great exclusives out now and on the way.

Now, I will say that stores, especially Gamestop, seem to hate the PS3. They rarely get as many PS3 games as they do XBOX. And they don't carry many copies of PS3 exclusives. The local Gamestop had two of MLB 08. Two. Not two left. Two total.

A guy at another Gamestop suggested I pre-order RSV2 because of the "ratio of PS3 games we get." I told told him to stick it and went to Best Buy.

Whatever. I just play the games and have fun.

I wouldnt know to be honest.

Multi-plat Multiplayer games go to my 360
Multi-plat single player games go to my PS3
Multi-plat Single + Multiplayer games go to my 360
Exclusives go to their respective system.

In other words, I only have 1 PS3 game that I really wanted, and that was exclusive, and I dont find any problems when I play.

But I do agree with you guys that the PS3 shouldnt have these problems with the late arrivals as youre insighting and the multiplayer problems of Vegas 2 and a few others. There's no excuse for it.

Dont get games at Gamespot if you want them at release. I have never seen Gamespot stock well for PS3 releases. Best Buy has been much better and has yet to fail me on stocking. The PS3 gets a bumb deal on some of the ports because of the architecture. Devs want to push a button and have a port ready, but unlike 360, its not that simple for PS3. The only thing I find rough is sitting through a dry spell for game releases. The PS3 had a HUGE one last year from March to August after the Motorstorm release. We are at the tail end of one right now sort of. Its not half as bad as last year. With Gran Tourismo Prologue, Haze, and MGS out in the next three months, I will be happy :)

Sorry everyone, I couldn't resist

I'll make up for it by contributing my opinion.

2007 was a year where developers didn't have full understanding of the PS3's hardware. Some developers were lazy and therefore, they created games for the 360 then ported them to the PS3, making the PS3's version look alot worse. Now that the developers are grasping the concept of designing with the PS3 (look at games such as Uncharted) they are now able to tap into the potential power.

As for the availability problem, think of it this way. The people running the strore know only one thing. "There are more people with 360s, so let's have more 360 games in stock." It's pretty ignorant, I know, but as the PS3's population and popularity grows with this to-be-amazing year, you'll be seeing the PS3 being treated just as equally.

In my experiences, the stores I go to have a great PS3 selection. There are a few stores however (which I won't mention) who don't balance their games amongst the platforms.

Developers are playing on 360's. If it makes you feel any better 360 gamers are getting shafted w/crap hardware.

well its not really about feeling better.. or the 360 getting shafted in other ways... i just wanted the gamer community in general to stop getting shafted and be treated with good service with the PS3 in particular.. i mean its because of us that they even have a job..

I'm also really sick of crap devs like EA (IM LOOKING ESPECIALLY AT YOU EA) who complain about how hard it is to develop on PS3, even though Infinity Ward and Capcom can make equal multiplatform games. I'm also sick of all the negative attention the PS3 gets, even now by consumers. If u watch society, you can easily see that all of the dumb kids playing their 360's or even PS2's who when they do get a next gen system they buy a game without looking at scores and most always base their buying on hype and commercials, which is extremely stupid, considering $60 isn't cheap for a game these days. besides how much birthday/christmas money do u earn? probably close to a hundred and sometimes more. I am glad though for now that some hit titles are coming very soon after many years and after all the nay saying of the PS3. Also, Halo is finally practically dead now(FINALLY). At least the FPS side of Halo everybody hyped for many years, even though in reality it wasn't revolutionary in any way and way better games existed before it, even on the multiplayer side. Thank god for real franchises like MGS.

Sorry buddy, but that's a whopper if I've ever heard one. I own both systems, and sadly when it comes to multiplatforms the PS3 version usually doesn't hold a candle to the 360 version. I had to return the PS3 version of Rainbow Six Vegas after playing the 360 version.

Renting has been my main issue an believe me I have let Blockbuster know it more then once. Carrying two copies of some of the hotties titles to hit the streets is inexcusable. An the fact that the shortage is one sided, that side being the ps3 side of course pisses me off to no end.

I just dont see a difference. I played RSV in both. Once I set my PS3 to 720, the graphics were the same. I might be getting old, but they look and play the same to me.

The only thing that is irking me is that the OTHER system gets all the kudos and praise. I'm just tired of the PS3 getting dissed because the OTHER system came out first. So what?! oh well just wait until the MAJOR games come out and then we'll see who's REALLY on top. Just remember: Sony has been winning the war with every system they have come out with and this will be no different......

I feel the same way. It irritates the hell out of me. And what irritates me more is the fact that people brag just because they have two consoles. Good for them, but there's no reason to brag. I buy consoles based on what they can offer in terms of how long it lasts and what games are coming up that I'll be interested in. Sony has no failed with their consoles and they won't fail with the PS3's. Developers need to stop being lazy and start tapping into the power of the PS3.

That´s so true! 360 has been getting all the hype.....but? When Socom comes out for PS3 the king will be on top again. It´s just a matter of time. And me I'm just saving my money for the real games that i know I will be playing forever. To me I don't care if they take there time to make the game good. My feeling is that Socom is going to blow every thing out of the water anyway.

So... you're complaining because games come out a day late? Because the PS3 is more difficult to develop on (fact) and some publishers won't put in the time and effort to apparently 'make cross-platform games equal'? You know that most cross platform games that GS have reviewed in which the 360 version gets .5 higher are for two simple reasons. A. The 360 offers you the ability to make your own personal soundtrack and listen to it while playing a game. Which would be maybe a couple tenths if it weren't for B. GS now rates only by .5 blocks.

First off, I'd like to say wall of text FTL.

Secondly, I'd like to say whining FTL.
