ps2 discs are dvds and ps3 ones are bluray maybe and just maybe ure bluray reader is dead
aight thanks btw if it is the blueray drive how can i fix that i cant send my ps3 to sont cuz my serial number is peeling off idk y i guess cuz of the heat so yea they didnt accept it any1 can help me out and tell me wat im gonna need to fix this problem
i gave sony a call well actually gave my cousin a call since he works for sony but he tried to get the tech ppl to fix it but it was denied cuz my serial numbers coming off idky so forget sony i wana fix it on my onw take that chance but idk wat i need a complete blueray drive or just some part?

I'd keep calling Sony. But if not check youtube how some techniques to try if you can handle the risk of losing your PS3 for good.
