In my house we dont have a plasma so I have it hooked up to my 68cm tv in my bedroom which is a normal tube tv. However the picture on it isnt fully clear it does have like a outline around the graphics. I have it connected to the tv via av inputs. Its almost like the pixels are flashing. Is not terrible but not clear as I expected it to be. Should I buy one of thos cables that has the red green and blue cables?

If not what do you think?

If your television has component inputs (red green and blue cables), then definitely buy those because component > composite (standard A/V cables). Also make sure that you have correctly setup the video settings on the PS3 itself.

So the YUV cables will improve the picture on my tv and stop the outining and flashing pixels of orange colours etc?

Also when you mention the settings what ones do your reccomend?

If you're using standard composite cables (the yellow, red, and white cables), your resolution should be set at nothing higher than 480i. It shouldn't even let you go any higher, but if for some reason it did, that might explain why it's displaying incorrectly. If you're just using a standard def. tube television it should be displaying just fine with the cables that came with the system. Also check for any fullscreen/widescreen settings (I forget if there's an option). Your best bet is to enter the video settings and choose the "automatic" option, which will figure out the optimal video configuration automatically. If the problem persists, you might just have a faulty cable or a bad video output port on your ps3. Also, try hooking it up to another television and see if you get the same results.

don't waste your time or money buying these cables it's not gonna help! I've the same problem with my 'old' tube tv! the thing is that for some reason I'm not that familiar too the TV can't take the ps3 input properly even in 480i! i've noticed that when the TV is on longer the problem gets worse! If you realy want to solve this do your self a favour and get a Full HD TV! It's gonna make you and your PS3 happier!! It's like driving a TVR in the highway just over 20 miles p/h!! Now that I'm used to Full HD I can't play in my old tube TV no more lol!!

See I just tried it on the lounge Teac 69cm tube tv and it isnt as bad as the one in my bedroom. There is nothing wrongwith my bedroom tv when im watching normal tv on my digital box. (SD)

So its very odd. Also I dont think my parents would be letting me save up for a hd tv for my bedroom maybe if it was the lounge, but not the bedroom.

So it just looks like ill buy the component cables. *fingers crossed that they will work*

PS3 looks best on an HDTV with HDMI. If all you can have is standard TV then go with the best cables you can hook up. If that's Component RGB then do it.

I was having the same problem on my 27" SDTV, and i never got it to work right...What I ended up doing is going out and buying a 57" HDTVand an HDMI cable...Which looks awesome btw.
