Hey does anyone know how that continuing game thing works? Do you have to have a copy of the game for both devices? Or retail game for ps3 and discounted game for the vita?
Thx

Well if you have to buy both games then I don't see much of a point, at least for me. I hardly go anywhere anyway. lol But not every one wants to buy 2 of the same game, because many people would rather buy different games with that money. They just always thinking of new ways to make money. :P
Its not like they're making you buy both, so why complain if you have a game on both systems then it's just an extra feature... not core to the usability of the device "If you don't own both then you can't play any mwuhahaha!!!" - Try not to get this in your head its annoying reading all the "Aw thats rubbish rip off rip off!!".JohnF111
Considering the track record of greed, it isn't far fetched. They chop up games and expect you to pay extra on top of the $60/$70, for ingame content that has to be "unlocked". Not additional content not found in the game.
I say it's likely to happen..
The PSP has had nothing more than needless side games and midquels of the SAME, existing franchises on the home consoles.
This time around, it looks like it's going to be the SAME, identicalgames, not just the same franchises.
Unless you have some compulsive need to play "on the go" (and trading graphical/hardware power for portability), I don't see why ANYONE would need to buy this device. It's just further proof that these handheld systems offer nothing more than watered-down versions and installments of the same, basic games that you can play without the overrated portability and the drop in visuals and processing power that you pay in exchange for said portabliity.
If sony isn't careful PS Vita is going to turn out to just be miniture PS3 rather than having it's own identity with unique exclusive software. This is the same thing that happened with the PSP early in it's life. I have a feeling this is going to encourage devs to be lazy with the PSV and just release watered down ports of PS3 games with very little exclusive titles. PSV doomed if thats the case. I'd rather buy a 3DS.
Hey, if you like the game enough you'll want to have it portable.. I know i'll be buying both a PS3 and a PSV version of Dragon Crown.. that game looks awesome.. from the same guys who made both Odin Sphere PS2, and Muramasa The Demon Blade Wii..PoisoN_Facecam0Exactly, if you buy both then having the gamesave system is nothing more than a feature, if you only own one then you don't even need this feature but ofcourse it'll be advertised "Cloud supported gamesaves compatible with Vita" kind of deal. Its that people say "Game continuation, HAVE to buy 2 games" Well no because if you only own it on one platform then you have no need for the feature, if you own it on both system then you have just been given a nifty little feature that is pretty damn great.

And having to buy two copies of the SAME game, will turn a lot people off and it probably won't even get used the way Sony intended it to be.

I agree, that would be a very smart decision for Sony to do.

Exactly, especially for RPGs and longer games in general having the option for those of us who want it is great.. I would have buy a portable copy of lots of games if i was given the chance.

Its not HAVING to buy two copies of the same game it's more like "If you do buy it on both platforms then look what you can do!". The feature cannot exist without owning the game on both systems and if you do want to play the same game on both platforms then enjoy your lovely feature you deserve it for paying two times for the same game. I do hope it's not the case maybe you can get the Vita version at a discount as previously mentioned but i think we all know it will not be free. I probably won't buy the same game twice even at a discount but you gotta admit it's a nice feature.
*Solves the whole problem in a single sentence*They could do double packs that contain both versions, like they do with some Bluray movies. That would be great.
