Ok I will walk do a step by step on what happened.

I turned on the PS3 to play MLB the Show 08 and my screen did the normal turn on with the intro music thing and went to the game, only except it flashed white and my screen turned black no music or anything from the game. I repeated that about 2 or 3 more times.

So I went to see if it was only the game so I turned the system off and put in Enemy Territory Quake Wars in and the normal intro music from the PS3 was fine then it turned on the game and it was fine. So it seemed like it was only that game.

So I tried it two more times from MLB The Show 08 and it did the same thing the first time but the second time after the normal intro music from the PS3 I got a message saying the PS3 Hard Drive was corrupted and it needed to be restored so it restored, the PS3 restarted itself and the message popped up again so I did that and have done it about 3 more times after that.....so whats wrong with it, is it from my game or I have just recently downloaded the 2.41 or 2.42 (can't rememebr its the latest one) so did the download screw up my PS3?

Formatting doesn't help ? I'm hearing lots of bad stuff about the initial Seagate drives ...change it quickly to a Samsung or Western Digital one of 250 or 320 gigs . Not only is the procedure way easy, you get enourmous amounts of space !!

I think my hard drive is getting trashed as well. I can no longer play my music and when I listen closely to my system I can hear the POS Seagate drive it came with making some weird sounds. I backed up my game saves to a flash drive today just to be ready. I will probably buy a 7200 rpm, gig trasfer rate, drive next month. I just hope this one lasts until then!

Yea you can install it yourself. I think a 320gb goes for around $100 on Ebay.
