ps3 headset issue

i just got a ps3 a few days ago and i also got this usb headset assuming it would work. so i plug it into the ps3 and nothing happens. so i went to settings in the xmb then accessory setting then audio devices and selected microsoft lifechat lx 3000(my headset) and it seems to be working but as soon as i go select ok and go back and it stops working. am i doing anything wrong? any suggestion would be appreciated.

the way that u can test to c if the ps3 has recoginze ur mic is by using the voice changer. if u can hear ur voice then it works

is there a power button on your headset? when i got my bluetooth and hooked it up it did the same thing, but i solved it just by constantly reinitiating it to the system. eventually it got hold of the systems address and it started to work. hope that helps.QCkid

i can hear the voice in voice changer but as soon as i go out back to the xmb or to a game it stops working.
