PS3 Hook up with Onkyo HDMI Reciever--- Downscale in picture Quality?

I want to buy a Onkyo Reciever, I want to know that if I hook up my PS3 via HDMI to the receiver and output HDMI to the television, will the picture downscale in quality and it will not be in full 1080p? Did anybody did this kind of hook up with their PS3?

The reciever that i'm looking forward to buy is Onkyo TX-SR805or maybe another model.

You may want to ask in hardware forum. HDMI 1.2/1.3 passthrough pretty much means it's 1080p ready.

why would that downscale the video?

Hey there,

I have the Onkyo TX-SR 605 hooked up to my PS-3 via HDMI and there's no depreciation in Video quality.

As for Audio it's by far the best for obvious reasons.
