Just wondering if this would look any good. I know that computer monitors resolution is higher than hd so would this look better. I really don't know what im talkin about here, just wondering. any help would be nice
I have an HP w2408h monitor connected with HDMI and it looks great, better than the sony bravia TVs. the only down side is I have to use the monitor speakers but it still sounds good for PS3 games, not so much for DVD's. The sound is lower than i would like with DVDs even when I max the volume.

I would say it looks better. At my parents house my brother games on a 40" sony Bravia with HDMI (gold plated if you think it makes a difference) and I think the monitor looks better. Its also much smaller though too. 24" vs 40"

wow. thanks. thats what iwas lookin for. i have and hdtv with hdmi but i wanted to try this out. do u think this looks better because monitors reach higher resolutions that hd displays?

well some bigger computer monitors do have higher resolutions than 1080p, but the ps3 cant support any higher than 1080p, but 1080p(although most of the games are upscaled 1080p) is still great and on a nice lcd or high quality crt monitor like the gdm-fw900(mine:D)does look fantastic, that is if u are ok with the size, but the quality is top notch
be sure to not get a cheap hdmi to dvi(although i dont necessarily know the good ones)cause ive heard some bad things with cheap hdmi to dvi cables
The specs for HDMI video were originally taken from the DVI standard, on top of it they added audio and some other features with revisions. It should look just as good as the TV or better (due to smaller viewing area and smaller view distance) given the monitor can use 1280x720 or above (Which is pretty much every monitor).
