My PS3 seems to kick me offline all the time and downloads files at a fraction of the speed as my 360. I originally had it hooked up through the built in wireless adapter, but decided to try to hook it up to my wireless internet bridge (or whatever its called) because it was on the other side of the room and it was closer to the router, so nowthe PS3 is operating as if ithad a wired connection. Now this is the exact same hook up as my 360, which doesn't have these problems. Is there any known fixes for this problem.
what is your setup exactly? sounds like you have broadband service ^-^ broadband modem ^-^ router |...| wireless access point ^-^ ps3, where ^-^ indicates a wired connection and |...| indicates a wireless connection. if that's not what you have please clarify.
My exact setup is I have comcast internet hooked up to my wireless router on the top floor of my house. The consoles are on the ground floor in the same room as the bridge, however the bridgeis about 20 feet closer to the router and seems to pick up a better signal than the PS3 does (I had even more problems with the connectivity when I was using the ps3s wireless adapter). I also know that the bridge is located in a spot with a better signal bc I used to have it next to the 360 (which is in the same unit as the ps3) but ended up moving it bc it didnt get a strong signal there.
While yes the bridge still does not get a perfect signal where its at. The 360 doesn't seem to have nearly the same problems as the ps3 in terms of staying connected and download times, and it too is connected to the same bridge (both systems are not on at the same time).
