I just got my PS3 160gb slim model yesterday, and I am forced to play it on my old 16in bubble screen TV. I don't have hundreds of dollars for a new LCD TV, so I have decided to buy a monitor. I would like to purchase a LCD monitor so I can take full advantage of the PS3's capabilities, so will this monitor work? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=176587&SRCCODE=NEXTAG&cm_mmc_o=2mHCjCWw0fzTCjCVqHCjCdwwp&cpncode=00-38306308-2 If it doesn't work, could you direct me to one that it able to? I have about $110 max dollars to spend on a monitor, must be at least 20in. Thanks!

Yes it could, it says it has DVI support so that means you're gonna have to buy a DVI to HDMi cable on Amazon that's all.

This exact cable will do the job. I know because my friend bought this for his Acer montior to PS3 setup. However, the monitor doens't have speakers so you wouldn't get any sound out of it. You'd have to buy speakers separate from the monitor...

I would suggest this monitor it's only $40 more ($149) and it's LED! Viewsonic 21.5". This is the monitor I'm currently using for my PC setup and it has been fantastic! It of course also has DVI support and has built in speakers... great HD picture as well.

This is what I did with my Accr Monitor your going to need some external speakers or stereo that will work with the PS3's RYW cords. Unless the monitor you get has speakers but those proably won't sound to good.

When you go HDMI to DVI it doesn't carry audio signal, so the built in speakers would be useless.

I use a monitor and speaker set up for my PS3. Just a DVI to HDMI adapter.

And here's the RCA female adapter that I ordered :).

from what you said and the monitor u picked out i can see your low on cash. so u could rig the audio to external stereo speakers with speaker wire. i did it back in jersey when my brother bought a 360 of a crack head and we used the computer monitor to set it up in his room. granted that i had bought the vga cable for the xbox since i already had the non hdmi xbox and wanted a digital connection for my tv.
