I've had it for 2 years. It did freeze some during that time, but not much... but recently It started to freeze on the game MAG, It froze, I restarted, and then it did it again....When I played MW2, I clicked multiplayer to enter, and the game froze for like 30 seconds. Also it froze on my XMB. All in about 3 or 2 days. Should I worry? Because if there is anything wrong with it, I want to ship it off now. Because CoD Blackops is coming out and I do not want to HAVE to ship it off when Blackops comes out, then I have to wait 2 weeks till i can play. thanks!

I'd check your discs... I was freaking out the other day because MAG froze like 4 times in a hour.. I took out the disc and it had a ton of smudges and stuff, cleaned it up and haven't had a freeze since. The XMB doesn't sound good tho..

Well it did freeze on XMB when I put mag in. When it was about to enter the game automatically, it froze there.

Whats the warranty on those things? I've had mine for a few years now and figured the warranty had expired on it, so I decided to disassemble it and take a can of air to it. Garnered many a dust bunny. Might be a heat issue and dispersing the years of acquired dust could be your solution. There's a few step by step guides out there for proper disassembly. Be sure not to force anything. If somethings giving you some resistance, there's a reason for it.

Which type of ps3 do you have? Does you ps3 fan work extra hard? Because I recently got the blinking red light which indicates a burnt harddrive, and my ps3 started freezing before it happened. I don't know if its something in relations to it or not.

I've got the first gen that came with a 40GB HDD I've since replaced with this. The HDD replacement significantly decreased load times. I dunno about the blinking red light and a "burnt" HDD, but system hangs can lead to data corruption. You may want to try to reformat it if you can.
