So I can play my ps3 slim for about 2 or 3 hours strait and then out of no where i get crazy green pixels poppin up everywhere, and then it just goes all green and is unplayable... obviously this is a Video card issue, and obviously its a $150 fix from sony because its out of warranty..

heres my dilema.

1. should i sent in to sony and spend $150 to get my same used system back, or a refurbished system....

2. buy a brand new PS3 slim for $299, and sell my ps3 that works for 3 hours then you gota turn it off for 20mins to let it cool down for $100, makin it a $199 investment.

3. I just found someone sellin a PS3 60GB backwards compatible for $200... should i buy that, and still sell my slim for $100 makin it a $100 investment, but now i have a 5 year old system...

opinions?

I would either buy a new one or send your old one to Sony. Who knows how long the used 60GB will last.

If it was me, I would probably buy a new PS3 because I am pretty sure that Sony's fixes are not entirely permanent and will most likely return after some time.

I'd go for option number 2. Option 3 you're basically asking for YLOD. Even option 1 is better than option 3.

Well there are still some launch PS3s that are still working perfectly and will probably never fail, but it is a risk that you probably don't want to gamble with.
