So I've been playing more often on my PS3 (like every day to every other day 2-3 hrs). And sometimes when I use the XMB my PS3 freezes. idk if this is a bad thing or not? I know everyone's froze time to time, but this is the second time it froze today.

I'm on the XMB about to activate my headset, and then the PS3 froze. After like 3 minutes it started working again, so I thought I'd power it off through the controller. When I held the PS button, the menu came up, but it froze AGAIN. Yea so that basically happened twice...my PS3 freezes on the XMB. And its happening more often... any advice or ideas?

Mine froze like once, and never happened again. Is it still freezing? Try keeping the PS3 in open space, don't choke it.

lol.

make sure its not overheating.if it is hot. then move it to a open area, dont put it in cabnets . make sure it gets plenty of air

.

_ If its not overheating then . your ps3 might be damaged if so. ur warrenty should cover it. it shouldnt of expired yet.

If you're PS3 is starting to freeze, just remember Sony states don't store/operate in extreme weathers.

Here is the million dollar question...do you have it in a closed area..??? If so that's your problem, the Ps3 needs to be(as with any console) in a well ventilated area.If you are still having problems...call Sony. I've had mine since 11/17/06 and it's been working fine.Everyday it gets used for something...Games...movies...Blu-ray....folding home...music...and a few other things I can't think of right now. Of course I don't use all of those functions everyday, but it does get used and I don't have any issues with freezing.

Mine started freezing but it was something different. When I download a video on PSN it freezes up and then if it lets me click on a video file it is wrongly labeled. It has not happened after I backed up my ps3 on my external HDD and I thought i would copy my game saves.....It did not save my ps3 game save for some reason but for ps2 it made the saves. I would think about calling but I really like my EE chip in my ps3 and I dont want them to send me back a 40gb ps3 with no EE. Oh and it is well ventilated

Haven't had a problem with my PS3 and I've had it for nearly a month. Been playing games for 2-3 + and nothing ever seems to go wrong. Place you PS3 in a well vetilated area just like other have said and it'll do fine.
