Im going to go with "maybe".
FFXIII
FFvs.XIII
White Knight Cronicles
Eternal Sonata
etc. are some good upcoming JRPG's...
Ohh and Dark Cloud 3 is rumoured to a PS3 game.
We also have:
Valkyira Chronicles
Disgea 3
for SRPG's ... but yea this whole gen is lacking in good JRPG's... and the few we are getting are 360 exclusives (LO, BD, SO4)
I went with Yes...because the 360 is absolutely kicking the **** out of the PS3 in the RPG genre which is messed up...because the PS2 had many great RPG's but now its just looking sad for the PS3....Xbox is just ****ting and pissing all over itSnakeLMR
Yup, exactly what he said...

I think there is still hope here...but im a bit dissapointed, jrpgs were the reason i choose PS3 over xbox360, I dont like and dont play shooters, so based on last generation i assumed that PS3 would end up having the kind of games i like but it turns backwards...360 have blue dragon and lost odisey...two great jrpg...
but i think that next year sony would end up being even in this, just have to wait...hope so, if not i would have made a very bad choice.
Tha closest thing to and rpg I played was folklore (obviously im just counting exclusive games)...but FFXIII VS and white knight if they remain exclusive will change things
So disagea 3 doesnt exist after all :o :P realistic44
That's only one game and it's not big enough game to change the flow.
I have to be honest, 360 is looking stronger with JRPGs at the moment. That includes games that has been released so far and games that's been announced for the systems.
by now, I hoped to see many JRPGs announced for PS3. It's been 2 years already and only handful JRPGs has been announced for the system
Not a promising sign I'd say.
On the other hand, there is disgustingly large number of FPS been released and announced for the system.
DISGUSTING.

Quantity doesn't equal quality.

Quantity doesn't equal quality.
Quantity usually beats quality.
none of the next gen consoles have a good rpg library. Tales of vesperia and star ocean 4 is probably gonna make its way over to the ps3 and last remnant is coming later for the ps3. But bottom line is, no console has a good library of jrpgs. I couldn't care for wrpgs.
Look at this poll. Every option is bashing the ps3. wow TC is a troll. End thread plz.
Jrpgs attract a certain crowd of gamers, ones that especially like all those japenese animes
I personally like final fantasy only, wild arms was a good one but failed to impress in later games
The fact of the matter is that MS has been sneaking money under the table and letting 360 get all the rpgs like Last Remnant and some other one i have heard about.
Jus gotta be patient with da PS3.

It's a good thing the 360 has them in quantity AND quality then.Multiple systems ftw.
Quantity over quality is a poor mans excuse for crap support. It's how Nintendo used to explain the no mans land that was N64 software, that Sony uses it now says a lot.CronoSquall
Nintendo often had highest quality games for their system thanks to their excellent first party support, but lacked quantity.
Sony from PS1 to PS2, didn't have highest quality system, and it can be argued which games had super high quality games between Nintendo and Sony. Zelda for N64 got perfect score from just about everywhere and often considered best game of that generation.
But Sony's game library was unmatched by anyone. They simply had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more games than any other system.
You just don't know what people will like, but everyone likes choices.
Hell I still don't understand why I love these poorly made games like Beat Down: Fist of Vengence, and why it is more fun to me than games like Halo and God of War. I can write 10 page essay about why Beat Down is one of the worst made games ever, but that doesn't mean I won't enjoy it.
Tenchu games aren't the best of gaming world, but I still love em and I want more sequel. Way of Samurai didn't show much polish like other games, but it had unique charm to it and was worthy on it's own.
I'd rather have quantity and choose games for myself instead of getting "quality" games like Halo and get nothing else to play with.
'im just holding ot till TGS for some PS3 jrpg action, if we don't get any new announcements there i will continue with the PS3 jrpg bashing/ranting/complaining:D
WKC, FF13, FFXvs13, TLR all look good, not eally into disgaea, just because of the art style, but i'll definately give valkyria chronicles a go.
qhat is a JRPG ?!vivelaps3
RPG- role playing game
WRPG- western rpg (mass effect)
JRPG- japanese rpg (final fantasy)
ARPG- action rpg (kingdom hearts)
SRPG- strategy rpg (disgaea)
MMORPG- massively multiplayer online rpg (world of warcraft)
Actually Triangle, the PS1 beat the N64 in both quantity and quality, because back then Sony had a philosphy of not needing to make a choice between them, when you can have both.CronoSquall
Well Final Fantasy VII really did it back then, so I can't really deny the quality of PS1, but the flood of games after that is what really put PS1 over the top.
Many of lesser known games and not as well praise games were just gems. Like Valkyrie Profile.
Back then, Sony just did great job taking in as many game titles as possible.
To simply put, if you have many games then some of them are bound to be great.
More is better.
First off: Don't put up polls if you don't want an opinion
Secondly: The PS1 beat the N64 to hell and back on all terms. Maybe if you put the amount of games in relation with the amount of high quality games, the N64 would be rather close to the PS1.
On JRPGs: Yes, we PS3 owners still lack what we came for. No, this will probably NOT change in the near future, even when those quoted titles will be released. But when they appear the PS3 will actually be up front in the JRPG-race again.
I just think that JRPGs are a dying breed as is and most game series will be discontinued soon enough.
FFXII was an omen towards that, as is the whole FF franchise by now. FFXII was, at least for me, the worst FF-part ever to be released. While graphically superior the game had more liking of an MMORPG than of a standard jrpg.
Should this trend continue I may shed some tears for my most beloved genre, but we have to be realistic
