For about a year I have owned my PS3 and have been useing a top of the line monster HDMI cable just fine on my 42 inch 1080p TV.. However a couple weeks ago I unhooked my PS3 and took it to a friends house, for some reason my HDMI cable did not work on his TV (Unsupported Video Signal) is what floated across his screen.. So Whatever we just used the standard cables that come with the PS3 sacraficeing alot of visuals :(.

But the real problem now is I just picked up KZ2 and reconnected everything back up to my TV from about a week and a half break from being connected to anything sitting in my travel backpack since I took it to my friends house.. So After reconnecting everything now I get the (Unsupported Video Signal) floating across my screen on all 4 of my HDMI options. The regular cables work fine and when I boot up my PS3 it says it detects an HDMI cable and when I choose the option for "yes" my screen goes blank from my Video 2 screen and when I swap to the HDMI it gives me (Unsupported Video Signal).

My TV is a Toshiba Regza that I purchased last May.

Please anyone know a solution or have some advice!?

have you tried resetting your video signal (on your ps3, theres instructions in the ps3 manual) and then reinstalling/popping the hdmi cable on after that?

Bad news, is my Girl Friend chucked my PS3 box like a week after I got it.. Isn't there something where you hold your finger on the power button on the console and it will beep like 3 times and resets the video signal to whatever is attached? If that is so I hold it there and get 1 beep then if I hold it any longer it turns off.

Otherwise how else do I reset it?

could it be a broken HDMI cable? But it shouldn't say unsupported video it would just say no video. Hmm this is frustrating! :(

just asking... did you check your video output settings on your PS3? I'm sure you have but sometimes the answer is so simple you can't see it
