hey last week i turned on my ps3 and was about to play COD:WAW and while i was in the main menu of the game it froze, i couldnt turn the ps3 with the controller so i had to hold the power button to turn it off. i turned it back on and it started to work fine, something similar happened on a different day and finally the third time it froze was while i was playing an online match on COD and i hit the PS button to go check one of my messages and when the message opened up it froze, so in total its froze about 3 times so i recently upgraded my original 60gb launch ps3 to a western digital 320gb wd3200bevt. so to sum it up should i be worried about my ps3 freezing? and its been like 3 days since i upgraded the HDD any helpful comments would be much appreciated.

Freezes can occur often. I've had a couple of freezes lately too. But I thought they fixed the problem with it freezing after opening a message. I wouldn't be too concerned though. Freezes while on the XMB shouldnt harm anything. Just be sure to keep good care of it.

well so far its only froze on COD:WAW and while i was in game and went to go check a message in the XMB real quick, but it usually happens early on when i turn on my ps3 like in the first hour. i usually play anywhere from 3-5 hours a day but i dont play everyday. the last freezes happened last week, i really hope my ps3 doesnt mess up because i really like my ps3 and i know it has a ton of potential so i dont want it to mess up on me.

I had the same freezing problem with fallout 3 on ps3. Unfortunately, yestarday was the last freeze for my system, because it fried...... I am a 20lv on fallout, I was playing to discover some new terains and it froze on me for the twentief or who knows which time. After reseting my ps3 ( reseting by holding down the power button, not swithcing the back button), the console no longer read blu-ray nor any dvd discs. As if this wasn't enouth, I also found out that my warranty had expired a month ago

The same thing happened to me!!! With Fallout3 too!!! Now I can't read blurays anymore (it was a 80gb PS3)!!! Is this game a PS3 breaker?! I love the game, but should I play it again on my fixed console (or a new one if it can't be repared)????? I wonder... Hey Bethesda, you ow me 400 euros!!!

Dont worry to much about it. Freezing on any console is normal. even PC freezes, cellphone etc. So dont worry about it, believe me, im a hardcore gamer myself and i have all consoles and it all freezes from nes, snes, pc, ps1, ps2, x360, wii, and now my favorite console is the ps3 and it also freezes. Hey its normal man..I even play more than 12 hrs a day and I also feel your concern about losing your favorite console but dont let it bother you. those freezing also has nothing to do with COD and Fallout 3 or any of your games its just bad luck or coincidence that it freezes on those games because i played cod and fallout 3 and didnt freeze on me but i have other games that freezes. Believe me my friend dont worry about it, just enjoy your games and take good care of your ps3 and everything will be fine. Just have fun. Its game time!

Sorry to hear that too, wow 400euros... I can't help but blame bethesda as well as sony. It's a rip of cause I have to pay now for there mess up!!!! I understand that pc's, consoles etc freeze once and a while, but my foze way too often when I was playing fallout3. I have like 16 games for the ps3 and except for assassins creed (only froze once because of my message board) none other froze my system. Of course I'll stick to ps3, can't wait to repair it, but that doesn't change the fact that I feel a bit cheated. I only blame myself for not buying a 3 year warranty, gotta do that next time.

Sorry to hear this. Luckily I've only had my PS3 freeze a few times, and none of them have been recent.
