The Ps3 launch was horrible. i've heard that over and over again... But how was it Sony's fault exactly? and did'nt 'selling out at release' use to mean 'success?' I'm wondering what i'm missing here apart from the fact that there were ,and are, low lives out there that are willing to hurt others for their own selfish gains. Was it the HDMI cord that screwed us so hard? Because it didn't really piss me off that much.

Legions of fanboys and general complainers are what soured the launch.  Take them both out and it was a normal launch, just like any other.

Someone was also killed over another system in the last 48 hours.  People were killed all over the planet for an incredible amount of assinine reasons.  What exactly does this have to do with the launch of the PS3?

Do not come into a topic just to spout off about the absolute EVIL one dumb human perpetrated against someone.  That someone killed another human over something so trivial is as disgusting as it gets and does not deserve anyones attention other than the law enforcement that are involved.

Were you in a bloddy shell when the PS3 launched? Didn't you hear about the shootings and robbries over PS3 during that time. Someone got killed today AGAIN. Deal with it!! The same atmosphere is around us as it was at launch.

That's why my packing kit for launch days looks like this:

1) American Express card. My card. My life.

2) An adult beverage. ;)

3) Sleeping bag (Preferably down)

4) Travel pillow

5) A gardening rake

Great for cleaning up spare leaves before you set your sleeping bag down, self-defense, and for that kid behind you that just won't stop prattling. :D

The launch wasn't bad at all, your just listening to fanboys and people who just complain for a living, I was the first to get a PS3 at an EB that had 8. well I was first to preorder which made me end up getting the first and their were I think 38 people, preorders for PS3 and Wii started and I had to camp about 16 hours and about 5 mins after I got there people started showing up and when the store opened there were 37 people wanting a PS3 preorder and only 8 available...yes the 38th person wanted to preorder a Wii lol

How was it horrible? It didn't meet the supply like every other system and had few games worth owning like every other systems.

PS3 is still the second fastest selling console EVER, so how could it have an horrible launch?

The launch wasn't bad at all especially if you only owned an PS3, it just lacked original titles.
