The PS3 is 7 months old and i never had problems with it before but 2 days ago it started to make a noise wen its reading a disc.

Heres a link of a video I made in which you can hear the noise. You may need to turn on your sound abit to hear it clear.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ek89UlH5u3Q

The games seem to work fine but dunno.Do you guys think I should be worried?I tried vacuuming the Blu-Ray player but it didnt help :S.Any advice will be great.

If everything's still working OK then just ignore it but don't play it too long and stop it from overheating. Is it only that disc?

If it continues then contact Sony. I may be wrong, but my ps3 was making a very similar noise just before i got the ylod.

sounds to me like the disc is off balance and scraping something while it's spinning. Could potentially break something as you'll be leaving little platic shavings in your blu-ray drive. Sicne there's no SOny support where you live, you don't have to worry about breaking the warrenty sticker.

I say rip that thing aparat and get the blu-ray drive running while you can see the disc. If you need a guide for this there's numerous guides on the net for disc swapping in order to get PS2 games working. just look for one of those.

Then watch the disc spin an see what it's rubbing.

you could also look for any noticable scratches or scuffs on the games.

This is what I would do.

It doesn't really sound that bad. Unless your drive scratches your discs you should be fine.

sounds like something is loose inside, but it shouldnt break that quick i had mine since the day it came out in japan and it never made that noise. but yea contact sony u may haveto send it off for repairs it is like a part that holds the disk in place has come loose and may or worn out a bit the same thing happens with laptop fans over time they make the same sound.
