ps3 making vibrating like noise and leaving rings around front of disc. Help!

If the PS3 is causing physical damage to your discs, then I would suggest sending it in for repair if it's still under warranty.

I'm not very knowledgable about the hardware itself, so maybe someone else would know if there's a quicker/easier fix than sending it in to Sony.

This usally happens if a disc is scratched. Make sure that the disc you are trying to put into your PS3 isn't damaged. This happened to me once, when I put a scratched DVD in the PS3. Does it do that with all of your discs?

I've had my ps3 for about a year and a half now and it has really been acting up lately. Whenever the disc is in the console it makes like a very loud vibrating noise and sounds like a computer fan. It sounds like it's about to blow up. The disc seems like it's off track or something. Also the console is leaving rings on the front of my disc and the disc are very hot when i take them out of the console. I don't know what's wrong with it...please help!stlfanchris2
