PS3 Mirror's Edge Freezing Problem

The other day, I bought a used copy of Mirror's Edge for my PS3 from gamestop. I looked at the disc, and it's in perfect condition. I am on chapter 6 of the game, and whenever I go up the same staircase, the game freezes and does not un-freeze. I have tried replaying the chapter three different times, and every time it freezes. Does anyone know why this is happening, and what I could do to stop it? Thanks :)

Your PS3 may be on the way out. Mine had freezing issues just like yours before I got the YLoD. I hope you are still under the one-year warranty, because that $180 repair bill does not look very nice.

Well it is only freezing on Mirror's Edge, none of my other games are having this problem. And I have the Slim, and I got it back in October.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I tried all of these methods, but none of them seemed to work, so what did I do? I went to gamestop, returned it, and got GT5 Prologue :)

Hey dude, I had this same problem and it was only for Mirrors Edge. Is it the level where you knock out a sniper by a billboard and snipe the other people on the ground and then you slide down a wire and land on top of a truck or something? If it is, that's where it happened for me. I would go into the building and walljump on a bookcase and hope over a walk-way railing... and it would freeze. It happened to me about 10 x,

I got past it by not stoping throughout that area, and I made it. i dont know how, but I did.

There was another chapter that did that as well, It was quite annoying, but I managed to get through it.

fyi, I had the same problem in the game, just at a different section. For me it was when I was in a vent somewhere and it always froze at that exact spot. So what I did was to pause the game (which lets the disc load new sections in the game) just before that section, because it seemed as though the game froze when the disc was working. I also approached the same vent in a different way, for example i turned around and walked backwards into that part.

You def shouldn't have traded it in though, seeing as it is one of the most underrated games of this gen!
