i dont like lcd tv's because they fade after about 6 months of use which makes them bad if u use it for hours of gaming get a DLP manunkownpain69
YEAH,,,,,, NO!!!!! First LCD does not fade, especially after 6 months. The brightness can become slightly more dull but thats after a rediculous number of hours. LCD has the longest lifespan among the other TV technologies.. not counting CRT. And Secondly, DLP is garbage.. Yeah choose a DLP over LCD if you want ghosting, screen door affect, artifacts, and a piss poor viewing angle. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824112007 Here is an alternated chioce for you monitor, and it will display a 1080p image with no problems even thogh its max resolution is somethingx1050. It 200 bucks too!! I have one and can vouch for it. I have CRT DLP and Plasma TVS, CRT is 1080i and DLP and Plasma are 720p, this is just as good if not better than those... Itll all IMO, and some facts. Life with in your budget, this is a great price alternative
1080- DLP ALL THE WAY BRO!! its alot cheaper and has just about the sam quality a slcd and plasma. I love mine.fuman3
NO WAY.... They are cheaper, il give you that.. DLP is best choice as far as a size to cost ratio is concerned. If i had a million bucks, I wouldnt buy DLP.... Im not bashing it, just saying its not the Best choice, and neither is the monitor I listed, but there a lot of factors that go into the decision. Price, size, needs, your eye sight!!!
hey man if u get a lcd which u prolly shud i recommend that u get one with the least response time like 5ms so u get the best gameplay :) brown_flame
by chance I bought an acer 22''lcd monitor for my ps3 about 2 weeks ago from a bestbuy and I can say : go for it!!!
though you`l need an hdmi to dvi cable or converter(i bought a converter from "monoprice" for 4$!!!otherwise they can be very pricey)
ya, it suports 720p input from ps3 and more:i played blueray movies and the ps3 won`t downgrade the resolution to 480p instead the monitor will readjust the resolution to 1920x1050 and the movies look great( i know 1080p means 1920x1080 and the in the monitor tech. specs. it says that the max res. is 1680x1050 but the blueray movies look superb and when you check the resolution in the monitor`s menu it says 1920x1050 !!!for exemple i`ve cheked the resolution when i was playing oblivion which only plays in 480 or 720p and it was 1280x720 which is 720p)
in the first week after I bought my ps3 i`ve played it on my old 27'' flat tube crt and it just su**ed ,this generation of games is a lot about HD !! I couldn`t afford right away a big screen LCD tv after I spent 600$ on my ps3 so I went with the pc monitor and I can say that I am very pleased with it !!! 22'' is not large ,but my no means ,small especialy for a bedroom .
my monitor:
acer x221w ,22'' wlcd monitor
version:X221W sd
max res:1680x1050
brightnes:300 nits
contrast ratio: 800:1
response time:5 ms
wiewing angle:160x160
so I say :go for it!!!
I recommend it for a bedroom and not so much for livingroom .......
if you decide to go with another monitor just make sure that it has HDMI or DVI withHDCP(BECAUSE PS3 WILL ONLY WORK with MONITORS THAT HAVE DVI with HDCP INPUT!!!!)
A! and one more thing, since DVI doesn`t carry the sound inputs you may wanna make sure that you have a stereo or surround sistem from which you`ll get the sound(that is easy to set up from the ps3`s menu where you have two separate options (one for video output and one setting for sound output )
PS3 ROCKS!!!!!:D
yeah it does have speakers though i have not used them, they proly suck... i duno though,, try tigerdirect.com or try moving out of canada!! lol no im kidding, anyway, you can maybe find it on amazon or soemthing like that.,. just make sure you get the right model.!dubbleduecer
