I was playing Mw2 today when something strange happened. I got shot but didn't die. I fell the ground, the screen went greyish, and at the top of the screen it said "Drugs FTW" in purple letters. There was a coin spinning in the upper left hand corner of the screen. I was stuck in this state so I backed out of the match. When I was in the lobby my sn turned red and I had a crude new clan tag. At the bottom of the screen in the scroll it said "You got Owned". So I tried to enter another match. The server dumped me into the same match. When it was time to choose a class all my custom classes were messed up. I had no real weapons. I had cans of smoke as my primary weapon and I couldn't stab. I could run really fast and jump very high. The was this one guy who killed everyone since he was the only one that could shoot. So whatever, someone hacked and cheated. We've all seen that BS before, but now my classes are screwed up and I can't change them. Does anyone know how to change them back? At this point I am glad I didn't buy Black Ops. It won't be long before they are able to screw with that and I would be pissed if I paid money for that and couldn't play online.

Here is the answer I got from Activision. Response (Jay Burton) - 01/19/2011 06:32 PMHello. Thank you for contacting us here at Activision customer support. Thank you for that information. It will help us greatly in investigating this issue. We are currently looking into this problem, and there will hopefully be a resolution soon. Please check back with our support website for updates in the future. I recommend reporting the player by using this method.To report a user who is acting inappropriately or cheating go to http://np.us.playstation.com/complaint/pc/ComplaintForm.aspx. You can fill out the form there to report the user. We are not able to restore your stats at this time. If you create a new PSN account, you can start over with no hacks at all. It has been recommended by IW staff that they are encouraging players to play exclusively with friends by utilizing the party or private match options.http://www.infinityward.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=371760 If you have any questions, or need help with anything else in the future, please contact us again.

WELCOME TO HELL :D jks but it's acually hacks... Since the PS3 has gotten hacked like 2 weeks ago modern warfare 2 has turned into a hackfest :( and worst of all it's always little kids hacking! :(

^ This is all garbage... they sent me the same thing they won't do anything.... they didn't do anything before it was hacked and now they finally care... thats bad service :(

Sorry to hear :( I never did care for call of duty after world at war but i still bought them and this ruins the fun for everyone

ya i get that its just theres 12 of these threads a day anymore.

and anyway its probably activision secretly sabotaging themselves to have an excuse to jump ship off of PSN. seeems thats what they want. this 'hack' debacle is just their perfect cover up. No other games sound like the mess thats CoD.

I hadn't played MW2 since November because I bought TW11 to use with the motion controller. I had no idea it went to hell. So when i went searching for info on this I came across all kinds of aimbot hacks for PS3. Very annoying to start out dominating a game just to get passed by cheaters.

I don't understand how the F they keep blaming Sony when the problem is with the Call of Duty games specifically. The hacks might be worse on PS3 now, but it's the same exact exploits that can be done on *ALL* platforms, not just on PS3. Even the stats thing it just seems like a rediculous cop out. They can't even figure the STATS out? Really? I know it's probably not treated like "critical data" like at a financial instiuation, but come the freak on! If they cared at all It really shouldn't be that hard to be able to roll back your stats pretty easily on THEIR END since a stat tracking server and peer to peer framework is basically all they offer for this game. It's pretty obvious they just don't want to deal with it, so they're just going to go on using the PS3 exploit as an excuse.

It's too bad the hacking has gone so far. I never really got into MW2 online, but I had a hell of a lot of fun times playing MW1 online. I must have got out before all the hacking started, because I never had any problems with it.

LOL. Really? Over-react much? Come talk to me in 2 years when they are still pumping out PS3 titles. However, if you are right and it dies, I will admit that I was wrong. However, this just seems like over-reaction to me. To me 2011 seems like it is going to be a great year for the PS3 and titles.

Agreed :D You didn't see the PS2 instanstly die after everyone hacked it :P

I don't think save files would make a difference, since online stats and such are tied to PSN IDs. I'd suggest backing up the save onto a flashdrive if you're going to try that. If it doesn't work, the best advice I have is to leave a room immediately after you notice that it's hacked. The biggest problem is that some hacked rooms aren't even allowing people to access the start menu, leaving the helpless unless they quit out of the game through XMB. I had to do that twice, but that's better than getting upped to 70 a fourth time or hacked like you were. I think one guy was trying to do a similar thing, as my game wasn't able to maps in 2 different games right after I left. I don't know if it was just permanent or temporary or just unrelated to the hack.

They took dedicated servers away from KZ3.
