Hey guys so I need yiour help??? I have put my PS3 in DMZ, gave it a static IP and forwarded its ports... I have read and google searched the crap out of this and still can't change it... One thing I have noticed is even if I use a wired connection my PS3 still says Nat 3 WTF??? Do you guys think it might be a modem issue, instead of a router issue??? And should I go out and purchase a new modem??? I have a Motorola modem AT&T gave me... Thanks for the help guys...

Call your ISP its the simplest way, and they can come to you for free.

I called my router company and my ISP and neither helped at all. i got it to say nat type 2 when i switched my modem setting to public IP instead of private, but then my internet wouldnt stay connected long to anything, it would constantly connect and disconnect. so i just keep it on nat type 3, however i haven't noticed anything defects with it... talk to people just fine on uncharted 2, killzone 2, resistance 2, dragon ball burst limit, etc... find games fast on all those, i even can host small games... are you having any actual problems with playing online?

don't port forward and put it in dmz, I think that frigs with the NAT type. DMZ should fix your problems. Also try turning off/on Upnp and media server.

Yeah we must lol. The thing is I can't get netflix to play on my ps3... I already had them ship out a replacement disc and neither of them work...

I had the same thing with my Sprint/Embarq which is now Centrylink DSL. I went into the modems settings and changed it from a router to a bridged connection and get a strong signal all the time with NAT 2.
