IM NO FANBOY, lol just thought id throw that out there.
So heres the story,
I had a 360 for a year i sold it for 200 dollars now i was thinking of getting the elite, but im also thinking of just switching to PS3, i just need some reasons to do this. ill state a couple things...
*I hated Halo 3
*I had ps1 and 2 and hated xbox except for halo 2 mp and fable
*I own an pretty nice HDTV
*I love MLB The Show
*Im worried about the lack of good games for PS3
*I love Madden

I understand everyday people do this, but i just want some help, is the ps3 really the wave of the future im so used to the 360, i mean i did research and from what i understand most games are built for the 360 then transferred to the ps3, that doesn't sound good.morbidepression
LOL i doubt that....preetty much halo3 is the only reason people have 360's so you hate it get a ps3....and trust me plenty of games...
PS3 is a great system, dont let anyone else tell you otherwise. There will be a whole bunch of titles comin out from now till years end which will surely satisy ur appetite for games...
Its more reliable and way I see it, a better console overall. Get the system bro
I have a 360 and I just got the ps3 and one of the main reasons I brought it s because of metal gear solid and blu ray movies, now there's no doubt that it's a pretty kick a** system with a promising future but to be realistic it doesn't have too many originals that's worth buying and my personal opinion is the multiplatform games most if not all are better on the 360(don't get crazy fanboys, it's just an opinion). My advice is if u don't want it for blu ray and metal gear solid and want to save money(you"ll spent 400 to 500 dollars on a system and have to spent more money on HD cables) then stick with the 360 or wait till the ps3 comes out with more great originals.

I mean people complain about not enough games all the time, and this is what I got to say... How many games are you really gonna play at the same time? I mainly got my PS3 for online games, and lemmie tell ya the online games made nowadays are amazing! I got my PS3 july of 2007! Resitance was the first game I got and that lasted me 2 months online and would have lasted longer but Warhawk came out! Warhawk lasted me lasted me about 6 months, Call of Duty 4lasted me about 4 months (went from Warhawk-CoD4-Warhawk-Cod4) now im on MGS4 and I think its gonna last me a long long time the game is the greatest game ever made hands down no qustions asked!!! Now I also bought some good games in between for the story mode like Assassins Creed, Guitar Hero 3, GTA4, Def Jam Icon, Madden 08, Enchanted Arms(nobody likes that game, but I dont think its to bad), plus i played the CoD4, Resistance, and MGS4 story, and I got some PSN games, and that lasted me a year! Ill tell ya I didnt play Madden, Def Jam, or Enchanted arms that much, and the PSN games only last so long, but thats cuz there short games! The point im trying to prove here is that threre may not be 200 amazing games out for the PS3 right now, but 1) its a new system 2) I really dont think theres any horrible games for this gen because the technology is so good 3) most important... how many games can you really play at the same time! Please nobody EVER post somthing like this up again so I dont have to waste my time again, but if you not sold on the PS3 right there then I will unfortunatly continue... FREE online, WiFi comes built in the system, internet browser, Blu Ray, store music, store pictures, trophies, PSN game store, PSN video store(basically like blockbuster on your system), and im sure im missing somthing beacuse there so much amazingness going on in the PS3 world!!! Soooo if your still not sold ont he PS3 then, forgive me, your an idiot!The PS3 is a perfectly acceptable machine to buy right now. Yes in the beginning it was crap with hardly anything and the games we did have were stupid ports of 360 games. Exclusives like Untold Legends, Genji, and Full Auto 2 were flat out garbage. There are cool games out to play such as Resistance, Ratchet and Clank, Folklore Uncharted, Hot Shots Golf, Warhawk. Heavenly Sword was good, but not worth a buy though. The only thing the 360 has the upper hand in are the RPG's/ If you are a huge RPG fan get a 360, but The PS3 does have 2 strategy RPG's which seem pretty good coming this year.
I would love to know where the slew of 360 games are? I just got the discontinued 360 and all I see are multiplats for the most part/
Most PS3 versions of games now run equal to 360. The only games that could run worse on PS3 still are PC developed games put on consoles like Far Cry 2, Rage, and a few others. Games like Dark Sector, Soul Caliber 4, and Bioshock all have the achievement/trophy system on PS3. All of the Major titles on the PS3 will support trophies like Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2, Little Big Planet, Socom. I am pretty sure there is more as well.
The 360 online has more games, but a lot of those games are just remixes or ports of classic games. While I have no problem with retro gaming, I did buy a "new" system to play "new" games. Most PSN titles are brand new games. The only spot where PSN lacks is classic PS1 games, which is quite sad.

As you can plainly see the PS3 has more games coming. Granted that doesn't mean that more is better. Once again if you like sports or RPG's get the 360, for everything it's either or. Any which way you look at it. Both seem to have good games coming so I would get both eventually anyway.

Same here. I got one because I loved the PS1 and PS2 and also because I didn't like the Xbox 360.
yea if you hate 360 games i guess ps3 will be good for you but there games arent really better than 360
so you might be dissapointed never the less your still 200 dollars short so youll have to wait. 2009 is the year for the ps3 not 2008 so i dont know. IF you hate Gears 2 and Fable to the its a defenite must you get a ps3.

Sony for some reason has a haabit about telling you a game 1 year before its made then M$ comes and steals it a week before its out like FF13 that was a piss off when that happend. Im like sony wtf stop telling us 1 year early what you have.
xbox took haze people were like NOOO then ps3 said no you cant take this turns out it got a 4 out of 10 lucky for xbox they couldnt take it.
Sony lost a lot of money.

What the hell are you talking about? When GameSpot made up FF XIII's profile, it was advertised as both Ps3 and X360 from the start. Microsoft didn't stole the game, and it's not because it was advertise for a long time. But because Sony didn't sent a paycheck to SE to keep exclusivity of their titles like they previously did with the Ps1 and Ps2.
O really then they need to work on getting money
M$ has an unlimited amount because of Bill gates
sometimes i think M$ can have the best hardware because they make computers
they just dont feel like it
if they can make the best games they can sell it on the crappiest consoles
but nothings more crappier than the wiis hardware
im mean atleast xbox has cd and dvd players and online names instead of friend codes
FCs are really gay like ten digits that change for each games.
it pains me that we have the best hardware blu ray free online not that many AWSOME games but their ok games
and were in 1 billion dollar debt

The Ps3 is becoming the lead platform for game development, which yields much better results so the ps3 versions of games look as good if not better than their 360 counterparts. Mirror's Edge and FF 13 are good examples of ps3 as the lead platform. As for being the wave of the future, I'm confident it is and that it'll be a good platform for you. It has had an excellent 2008 with games such as MGS 4, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, GTA 4 and Soul Calubur 4, and this holiday is filled with great exclusives like REsistance 2, Motorstorm 2, Little BigPlanet and Socom: Confrontation. 2009 is only looking better with inFamous, MAG and God of War 3. Having had the system for nearly 2 years, I can tell you it's a great system with a lot of great software out there. You need not worry about lack of games, as many people in this thread have already pointed out, and you certainly need not worry about hardware failure.

first of all. A good console is a reliable console. That is the most important thing. Wii is very reliable. Can't say the same about the 360. Heck, you know something is wrong when a snes has a longer life than a current gen console.

something is wrong when Bill GAtes has nothing to do with xbox but xbox still has enough money to replace your console for free when ps3 charges 150 dollars if you dont have the recipt or if its after a year like wtf who keeps their recipts
when i brought mine i knew because they did this BS to my friend so i kept my box and the warranty and recipt inside the box is shoved in my basement closet way in the back so it dosent get lost.
How can M$ be able to take so many games with out BG how can someone tell me isnt Sony way richer because of the psp/ps2 not to mention the sony tvs?

i agree resistance 2 isnt hyped not alot are getting it..but LBP is going to be the best ps3 exclusive for 2008 Lol i cant wait.
