My PS3 disconnects often, either from PSN while playing online or from my media server while watching a video. This is both over Wifi and Wired. Its not game breaking but it is pretty annoying. Now I know its not my connection or network because my 360 does'nt have any issues. Thing is my 360 can go sit in my closet as I play my PS3 more, mostly due to the fact that pretty much all of the newer games I bought were for PS3 or PC.

So does anybody know how to fix the disconnects?

Wow that's eerily familiar to my issues, my PS3 does the same, at least a dozen disconnects per hour, yet my 360 never disconnects, wish I knew how to fix it.

Oh and I'm not dissing the PS3, I love my PS3 a hell of a lot more than the 360.

ive never disconnected while playing online or cruising PSN. must be that some people are lucky and some arent as lucky.

make sure that its not your connection to the net that isnt screwing up

it's most likely your router. Even if you have all the settings right, some routers just don't play nice with the ps3. What's the brand/model of your router?

Disable Media Server Connection under the Network SettingsCanadianCR

Only if you use your PS3 for gaming only. If you watch videos off your PC from a media server don't do this.

I don't have any problems with disconnects but like others have said disabling media servers seem to help.
